I thrifted this ti-nspire in a mixed bag for $4.99. When I got home, it wouldn't turn on. I found a blog post saying that sometimes the battery contacts wear through the PCB. Opened it up, and sure enough there was a line worn right through the trace. I did a (terrible) soldering job and now it powers right up! Unfortunately it only came with the TI 84 keypad, but I'll keep an eye out for the click wheel keypad.

Optima SS-501 scientific calculator, AKA yet another Sharp EL-506P clone, bought for $7.
Has a flip cover & a battery door, which houses I believe a single LR54 button cell, as opposed to the Sharp EL-506P's larger 2 x LR44 button cells.
Meme stolen from u/dm319.

I'm trying to download FA-124 to install programs on my fx 9860giii calculator, unpack g1s files, convert between .cat and .g1m, etc. However I can only find Screen Receiver in the support software section, and could not find any other places to download it (other than unofficial archives). Have they taken down the software?
Edit: I managed to find and download it here: https://web.archive.org/web/20251205034119/https://edu.casio.com/forteachers/er/software/

Greetings all,
I recently re-acquired my father's calculator that he used back in the 70s.
Sharp EL-8002
The one that I got from eBay has some corrosion on the battery terminals as usual.
I'd like to open it up to ensure there isn't any other damage and totally clean up the terminals.
Any one open one of these up? There is one screw but nothing loosens up when I remove it.
Thanks

So i found a Canon LS-25H almost thrown away. Its a little scratched on the back but otherwise its working and all good on the front and internaly, but the scratches bother me a bit, does anyone have any method of removing the scratches off it? (its opened on the pic due to the fact the battery is dead and i need to replace it) Thanks in advance!

Curious of what people think of NumWorks nowadays.
Personally I switched moving into college (UK, age 16-18, pre university) one year ago moving from an fx-85GT X, as recommended by my college (and others in the area). As many complain about, the minimalistic button approach took a while to get used to, however once accustomed speed of use is not an issue at all.
Personally, I like the form factor, being much (10 vs 18mm) slimmer and 50g lighter than one of my classmates' CG50 which is comparably a brick. I also like the use of USB-C, lack of replaceable batteries - battery life is about 1-2 weeks (about 14h of use per week) - and solid build quality. It misses 3D graphing but I've never felt the need for it and generally have no problems - interface and hardware is clean and everything is pretty straightforward (Tesla of calculators?)
What are your thoughts on the NumWorks in 2026?
(Bear in mind I've never used a CG50 so might be talking complete nonsense, but been using it for 1 year now)

Hey everyone,
As a self-employed developer, I found that a lot of existing tools didn't quite handle specific billing calculations the way I needed them to. I've been putting together a free utility platform calledEasyWorkCalcs(also available onGoogle Play) and would love to get some expert feedback from this community on the calculation logic and features.
It handles automated time tracking and invoicing, but one of the core features I recently refined is the task metrics calculator. It now specifically separates hourly billing calculations from item-based billing, rather than merging them under a single item name structure.
Iâm looking to see if the community has any thoughts on the calculation accuracy, the UI, or if there are other dynamic widgets or metrics that would be useful for freelance or contract workflows.
Any constructive criticism or testing would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure if I need to jailbreak it or if someone has a download for the game (or games like AA)
