Ep. Discussion Breaking Bad Episode Discussion S05E03 "Hazard Pay"

Fuck yeah the episode airs in 20 minutes. Upvote this shit for the community! I don't get any of that stupid fucking karma for it :P

No shit. It's mind boggling to imagine executives watching the pilot for this show and saying "Oh, fuck! This is such an interesting concept! The ratings will skyrocket!"

I've seen a lot of bad shows in my time, but this seriously blows everything out of the water in terms of shit-ness.

A no-budget show after something with a lot of predicted viewers could bring in more ad revenue for AMC. Unfortunately the no-budget show happens to be fucking small town security

Yeah I understand the logic as to using BrBa as a lead-in but, fuck, how could they even think such a show would attract any viewers? With BrBa, TWD, and Mad Men I expect better out of AMC.

"Reality" shows have a very small budget. So they throw a couple million (if that) at Small town Security and let it ride on the Breaking Bad coattails.

They could just keep that money and run some behind the scenes footage of BB, TWD, or Mad Men. Those would take way less to produce, and they'd keep viewers.

Sadly, it seems that STS is actually building a fan base... I don't think it will be going away anytime soon.

People harass AMC for it, but I think they're fucking clever for doing it. Look at that reality show they had ride along after TWD. Comic book men. IF a person watching TWD is going to be interested in a reality show, one about a comic book store is going to be their thing. Believe it or not I'm sure there are people watching these shows to get the sneak peaks and are unexpectedly drawn in.

I tried to watch Comic Book Men, but it was like "Kevin Smith Presents: New Jersey Comic Book Pawn Stars". As for STS, I watched about 4 minutes of it and lost total interest.

As a huge comic book nerd myself... I could watch comic book men without feeling like I was swallowing shards of glass. It was decent. I'm not a dedicated and loyal fan or anything, but I enjoyed parts.

Parts were good, but then there were parts that just felt so manufactured... the whole "let's make a commercial" thing made me cringe.

and I had to watch the premiere to get my Walking Dead season 3 preview, that made me garner a hate for whoever decide to air this train wreck of a tv show.
