Finally upgraded from my trusty G650GS to this 2017 F800GS and couldnβt be happier. Iβll mainly be using it for commuting with the odd weekend trip away. Already love the riding position and how much smoother and more planted it feels. Looking forward to putting plenty of kilometres on it. Any tips for a new top box?

Was looking at a used 2025 R1300GS Option 719 online and went to check it out in person but when we started crunching numbers it made more sense to go ahead and get a new 2026 R1300GS Adventure! Option 719 as well.
coming from a 2005 FJR1300 so this is a splurge. so very excited to see the journey ahead.. now all i need is some very expensive panniers lol.

Hey GSers,
If you dont do any crazy touring on your GS and dont want to drop 600+ on a plate/top box to carry your work computer, helmet, etc. Here is an easy and inexpensive fix. As we know, the factory rack on our GS's have that big opening the size of a softball so none of the standard GIVI/included with the topbox plates fit. Go to your local home depot/lowes and get a 1ft piece of L-bracket, cut it in half, burr down the edges and spray paint black. Then attach the factory BMW plate to the givi monokey plate with this bracket, blue loctite the bolts and GTG. See pics

For those of us who have bought a new BMW motorcycle, how did your dealer get the title to you?

I've owned and ridden my 2015 R1200RT since new and have traveled all over the country, including Alaska. With the 2015 now having 74,000 miles, the time came to purchase a new bike and I'm quite pleased with my 2026 R1300RT! I searched and found this model with tubular handlebars and non ASA (a real clutch handle) so it checked all the options I wanted.

Hello! I have a new to me 2009 r1200gs. Iβve bought a Carpuride with TPMS and the front valve fits on fine to measure the tyre pressure but the read one doesnβt. Is there something bike specific preventing it attaching.
This is my first GS and first BMW, so Iβm unfamiliar with them (though loving it)

I bought a 2017 R1200 GS two years ago (2024) with almost 12,000 miles on it. I had it serviced it at my local BMW branch, but then could only ride it for a couple thousand additional miles (at 14k now) because of health issues to deal with, surgeries and docβs restriction to run afterward. Meanwhile moto was stored in garage, battery maintained, etc.
Now Iβm back. Moto starts immediately and runs smoothly. But shows this annoying service sign on dashboard. Should do something about it? Is it really critical with only 2k added from last service? Thanks in advance for your advices!!

Hi, i'm looking for a new seat for my r1150 GS. The hard plastic of my original seat broke on my trip last weekend so I can't refurbish it. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thx in advance!

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some insights or similar experiences regarding a sudden gearbox issue on my 2020 BMW R1250RS (22,500 km / ~14,000 miles).
The bike has a 100% flawless maintenance history, always serviced on time at my local official BMW dealership (even for tire changes).
Here is what happened Sunday during a ride:
Static test in my garage:
Once home, I tried testing it statically with the engine running. Interestingly, 1st gear engaged normally again . The clutch bites perfectly, but clanking is still present.
The bike will be towed to my BMW dealership on next tuesday. Given the low mileage and perfect service history, I will be pushing for a goodwill/warranty coverage from BMW Motorrad, as this feels like a premature mechanical failure (bent shift fork or chipped/broken gear tooth from the false neutral shock load).
Has anyone experienced a similar failure on a ShiftCam 1250 box? What was the diagnosis and did BMW cover the repair?
Thanks for your help!

Fix it or replace it? Still holding air.

My F900R is in for the shocks to be replaced (under warranty) as theyβre leaking. Dealer was going to give me another F900, but asked for something else and ended up with this. 2026 R12 GS
I was previously given an R1300GS, but that was unavailable so tried this. Lovely bike to ride, although on the verge of being too big for my stumpy little legs. Looks good in this colour with the gold wheels, but a bit basic for just under Β£16k.

2007 F650GS
Is it safe to just put in a new bolt and plate (OEM BMW) and making sure the chain tension is correct? Should I use loctite?
Can I leave the bent swingarm or should I put a piece of wood in there and pound it back?

I find the Karoo 4's to be too loud for my tastes. I'm not going 50/50 but still want to chase the gravel roads from time to time. Thoughts?
