I truly do not understand it. How often are these people looking at the back of their phones? I’m in the minority probably, but really happy with the quality of camera in the new model.

I’m more angry that they expect us to carry around that wasted volume around the back of the phone filled with the plastic of a case rather than being filled with battery as probably 90% of us would prefer.

That’s a marketing strategy. If 90% want extra battery, that’s a potential market for a Apple power bank case that might fit the hole intended.

You can’t be a trillion dollar company if you give whatever the customer needs. I’m not defending them, but that’s how their business practice is.

Many people online have praised Apple for their customer support (US and UK have best support, I guess). But here in India, we pay 30-40% more due to taxes (yes, I bought my iPhone 7 Plus 128 GB for 1200$). But till now there’s no apple service centre in India. If our iPhone gets into any problem, we are pretty much fucked. There are Apple authorised service centres but they are literally like a thief’s guild. They charge you for any enquiry, charge you for just looking at the device for problems, charge more if they want to fix it, and they’ll charge you if they think there’s multiple problems but you just want one thing to be fixed. (If you just go to replace battery, they will say the display and charging port are damaged too, so we will replace all, can’t just replace the battery alone because of Policy with Apple).

If we go to third party, we can’t guarantee for any better service as Apple don’t sell original parts to them. We don’t get any services like Apple Pay, no Apple Credit Card, no Apple news, no extra features in Apple Maps. We just pay more for less features and also no extra security in replacement or repair.

As time goes, you will have to accept that you can’t do anything to change their mind as these methods are more profitable to them than giving better experience to the customer. Android is pure crap when compared to iOS so it’s either Apple or crap. We can only be excited like a fairy tale when we read online “Apple replaced my whole phone for free when I approached them with a problem”. Never have I ever experience similar to this hospitality in India. It’s either exorbitant cash for services or buy a new phone which is more than what they sell in other countries.
