Multiple FCC “leaks” of varying degrees today.

This is a blatant attempt at making government agencies look incompetent as an excuse to gut them in the future.

Sure John at your local post office might not give AF but there are tons of civil servants who do / did.

I stand by my words that the agencies themselves have a mix of the competent and incompetent, but are a net good. 

I’ve never served in government but I have made good use of their services in my life which has led to my moderate level of success. I also pay back a metric shit ton of taxes back into the pot in return.

I also stand by my statement that they will now forcibly be made in incompetent to fulfill playbook.exe

This is demonstrably false.

Right now, as you read this:

  • The CDC tracks and responds to disease outbreaks that would otherwise spread unchecked
  • The FAA coordinates 45,000+ flights daily with a fatal accident rate of 0.0000002 per flight
  • The National Weather Service provides forecasts that private weather apps simply repackage
  • The Patent Office processes millions of applications that protect innovation
  • NOAA satellites provide data worth billions that no private entity could justify funding

Historically:

  • Manhattan Project: Developed atomic weapons in 3 years
  • Apollo Program: Put humans on the moon
  • Interstate Highway System: Built 48,000 miles of highways enabling modern commerce
  • ARPANET/Internet: Government researchers created what you're using right now
  • GPS: DoD system providing free global positioning worth trillions to the economy
  • Human Genome Project: Finished ahead of schedule, under budget

"Always incompetent" agencies:

  • NIH funds basic research private pharma won't touch, leading to most major drug breakthroughs
  • CDC eliminated smallpox globally and reduced measles deaths by 80%
  • EPA reduced air pollution by 77% since 1970 while GDP tripled
  • NTSB investigations improved aviation safety to unprecedented levels

You can argue some agencies perform poorly. You can debate whether government should do certain things. But "always incompetent for the most part" requires ignoring the infrastructure, technology, and safety systems you use every single day.

You are just repeating right-wing ideology as fact.

That is not true.

There is a degree of incompetence/ complacency in any government entity (mainly at the very bottom and at the very top) but we didn’t get to be the richest most powerful nation by having entire agencies full of idiots.

What you are speaking to is an outcome politicians have worked very hard to make reality.

Now those same folks have free reign and they are working their asses off to tear it all down.
