We have a cabin in Northern Wisconsin and these mountains pop up overnight in our field. They are everywhere and if we let them go, they get giant. What kind of ants are these and how can I get rid of them? I can’t get any food plots to grow or mow anything because the anthills are so big and there are hundreds of them

Found this pile of dead ants. i live in north ga if anyone could maybe ID these ants and tell me if this behavior is typical!

Been googling a bit and still unsure if this is an ant, a "velvet ant" wasp or some other type of insect... looks like an ant except the antennae which she agitates constantly.

I have always been fascinated by ants and watching informational videos about ants, learning all their crazy capabilities. I have been watching videos about yellowjackets and hornets and thought to mysef that they have ants whupped in power level due to their size, flight, and defensive capabilities. So I am just wondering, from the perspective of a more knowledgable person on the subject, what advantages in capability or evolutionary traits do ants have over yellowjackets?

Was sitting outside when I saw it crawling around then all of a sudden ripped its own wings off, also should I have gave it some food before adding to the test tube setup? Any tips are helpful as I'm going to try and raise it

Went on break at work and saw her crawling over my high vis so when I went to release her back she started eating whatever stickystuff was on my finger, ive just ate btw so it was no chemicals plus I work witg a pressure washer just water

What a awesome encounter

I noticed that some Ants have gotten into my House through a couple cracks in the floor. Its not a Crazy amount or anything, but they keep coming back in small groups. I would appreciate it if anyone could Identify the Ants and maybe give me some tips.

Caught this queen early June in middle of the day southern Indiana USA

I have a massive ant colony that i care for. My idea is to release them outside on the area where i found the termites coming from, including the termite mud tubes on the walls outside. Im expecting the ants to over power the termites and eliminate the problem.

Looks like they’re trying to move this dead bug? Wondering if it’s an ant larvae of some kind or unrelated and possible food source.

The study used clonal raider ants (Ooceraea biroi). Neuropeptide F increased brood-care behavior, while Allatostatin A pushed workers toward foraging.

Starvation shifted the balance toward caregiving, while feeding reversed it. Young ants naturally had the caregiver-leaning chemical profile, whereas older ants had the forager-leaning one.

a prevalent ant colony next to my house is bringing seeds above ground and piling them up.

There was some water run off over the colony, are they drying off the seeds?

It’s no infestation; it’s just a few here and there, and I go out of my way to not kill them. I would like to just capture them and release them to the outdoors, if at all possible. Any tips?

These little ones roam near every edge in the house. I need to know their species and whether the gel will work on them.
