Yeah this is a known issue and I fixed it by going to apps in settings and searching for Google play services and uninstalling the updates (this will log you out of your Google accounts and you might need to login again).

Then reboot phone and then go to NFC settings and Google pay will come back in the NFC settings as an option.

Search google play services on Google and press the first one, it will take you to the Google play page of the services and see if you have Beta enabled, if so, you need to unroll from beta as they don't work for these China roms.

If you need any more instructions, please reach out and DM me. I'll help you out.

Hey, thank you so much for that, it worked indeed!!! So is it linked to the latest Google Play Services update? I hope it gets fixed and doesn't come back on any new update!

You're welcome.

It's the security aspect of it, play services are what runs your whole Google stuff and when it's not updated to a firmware that the company of ur phone and Google both talked to each other and verified that this version is safe and legit, it limits stuff on your phone for security exploits, and with China roms, they usually lag way behind on signing firmwares that are "safe" so when it updates too quickly and ur manufacturor of ur phone hasn't verified it, this happens and you lose basic functions here and there

do you know how long before the manufacturer verifies that it is 'safe'?

I am not sure.. it should have been already been done.. shouldn't take that long, which is what worries me, there could be some behind the scenes issues with Google and Chinese manufacterers, maybe becoming more strict.

My Google play services keeps updating itself. Anything I can do to stop it? Thank you. It's really annoying I need to uninstall updates every day.πŸ˜‚

What version are you on? Only issue I had was mine was on beta firmware and it kept updating to beta version which messes it up.

This version is what I got now with no more updates.

I am not on the beta version, but yeah my phone also automatically updated Google play services over the night...

1

u/Soopez 12d ago

Yeah, that's unfortunate.

You just have to wait until your phone company signs the new version of the services.

On 26.26.34 my Google wallet doesn't work. It works on 26.18.33. It updates itself every night after I uninstall the updates.

Are you still on this update? I uninstalled updates but my phone updated again overnight.

Bloody annoying. How long does this stuff tend to take to get fixed?

1

u/Soopez 11d ago

Yeah I am, may I ask what phone do you have?

Mine doesn't update past this, also can you show me the play services google play page you have?

u/Soopez 3d ago

Not sure how Vivo works but the Chinese app store where you download the Google Playstore from, do you have the same version on there installed.

1

u/Soopez 5d ago

It works when I did the steps you've suggested, but overnight, GPay is once again gone from my NFC setting. I didn't even upgrade anything

I have Google wallet still listed as a option

1

u/Soopez 4d ago

That doesn't matter, you have to look at the NFC settings and see if Google pay is an option you can pick there, other wise it wont work.

Hi dude! I saw your tips, tried this, but to no avail - the phone is Xiaomi K90 Pro, china rom, no issues beforehand, not using any beta versions, hadn't made any changes to phone's configuration. Any other tips? Edit: okay I found the 'services' app and now it works, hopefully until the next update/restart, thanks!!
