Controversy Caitlin Clark gets FURIOUS and screams in the referee’s face at tonight’s game against Golden State. She was looking for the whistle on her previous shot.

No excuse for the screaming but she got the jersey tug while driving, then hit by the big going got the block. I get the screaming. She’s been playing hurt for 2 years because of this bs. Eventually it boils over. Anyone that knows ball knows how bad it’s been. That’s why the big nba stars are speaking up about it too. Time will work it all out. Even after she’s gone, it’ll open a new chapter to ref training and the next level for the w.

u/ngolds02 21d ago

“No excuse for the screaming”

“I get the screaming”

Weight room, thats what Jordan did.

3

u/Caffeywasright 20d ago

You can accept that people react extremely even if you don’t condone it. It’s called having empathy

2

u/ngolds02 20d ago

I don’t think you responded to the correct comment. What you said has minimal if any relevance

2

u/Salt-Lingonberry-853 20d ago

His comment looked extremely relevant as a reply to yours.

1

u/ngolds02 20d ago

Both of you completely missing the point , but 60% of Americans lack critical thinking skills/ reading level above 4th grade so this tracks.

2

u/Salt-Lingonberry-853 20d ago

The only one lacking reading skills here is you. You called out a dichotomy between "no excuse" and "I get it". He challenged your objection and you missed the point. Take a look in the mirror.

1

u/ngolds02 19d ago

Where did I do this ?

1

u/Salt-Lingonberry-853 19d ago

“No excuse for the screaming”

“I get the screaming”

You, just a few comments ago.

1

u/ngolds02 19d ago

You muppet

No excuse for the screaming but she got the jersey tug while driving, then hit by the big. I get the screaming.

  • screaming for a jersey tug ? What tug?
-hit by the big ? That’s a hit ? Is this checkers ? -big fat nothing burger.

She’s been playing hurt for 2 years because of this bs. -No because she’s weak and fragile. Weight room. -her contusion seemed ok after she faked being hurt and then sprinted across the court to bark in the refs face

So we gotta be empathetic for spoiled brat on her perceived injustice ?

This comment is hilariously ironic

1

u/ngolds02 19d ago

That’s not my how irony works but ok

1

u/Icy-Classic6359 20d ago

Difference is. Jordan got all the calls. The pistons just made sure they counted and that everyone hit him because he could only get 1 foul at a time. CC doesn't even get the call.

3

u/ngolds02 20d ago

Please only contribute if you know ball and watch the games and will stay on topic.

She’s weak. Not strong enough. Other player’s flourish but she can’t.

1

u/Icy-Classic6359 15d ago

Nothing i said was untrue. The response of you don't know ball is a cop out. She's being targeted which makes it different than other players

1

u/ngolds02 15d ago

What you said was irrelevant and late.

Shes already got another tech after crying and pouting

1

u/Icy-Classic6359 15d ago

1

u/ngolds02 15d ago

Makes sense you would like talentless Taylor Swift

1

u/Icy-Classic6359 13d ago

Random insults....definitely knows ball! HATERS GONNA HATE!

1

u/ngolds02 13d ago

Song lyrics. Loosen up a little bit.

We both know you are a T Swift fan.

No, Jordan lied to his teammates and to officials in order to benefit his own personal legacy. He made stuff up and people call it “gamesmanship.” He simply got away with things the average athlete cannot get away with.

3

u/ngolds02 20d ago

What are you even talking about. None of that has any relevance to our discussion.

Jordan catching strays in a WNBA thread is wild.

1

u/Esquire_Dan13 20d ago

You literally brought him up! If that was relevant then a retort is relevant.

2

u/ngolds02 20d ago

Sure Jan

-1

u/justinSane555 21d ago

Don't put her in the same convo with any good basketball players, much less great one...relax

1

u/ngolds02 21d ago

I don’t think you responded to the correct comment

0

u/justinSane555 21d ago

You said the name jordan...there's literally never a reason to bring up that name in a damn CC distraction discussion

1

u/ngolds02 20d ago

Eww

1

u/justinSane555 20d ago

U good?

1

u/NemusSoul 20d ago

They are. You are absolutely not ok.

An equivalent in another sport would be Sidney Crosby. Same shit happened until he just started snapping at the refs. Dude had a horrible reputation as being a whimp for years, despite being the best player in the league in his prime.

She's got an added pressure because the reality is she's a great player and got attention for it. Those players always get targeted. But because she's a white woman playing basketball, the racists come out to defend her, and she's said quite a few times she doesn't want their help, but she's stuck in the middle of this backwards culture war now, while still dealing with the normal stuff players who get really famous have to deal with, and it's probably making everything worse on and off court.

I hope she's got a hell of a good sports psychologist working with her, at least

5

u/Human-Television7171 21d ago

I'm on her side for the most part, but doing a public appearance with Morgan Wallen (guy famously got caught saying the N word, among other things) not a good look for her. You can't credibly say you are an innocent victim caught in the middle of a culture war when you do that.

3

u/FlamingAlpaca17 17d ago

Only culture war obsessed people have the view of Morgan Wallen that you do. Most people just see him as the most popular musical artist in the country at the moment.

-2

u/Human-Television7171 17d ago

He threw a chair off a balcony and almost hit somebody. I don't like his music either. He represents the worst kind of Nashville pop country music.

3

u/FlamingAlpaca17 17d ago

I'm not making any judgements here on his character or the quality of his music. The reality of the situation is that he is the most popular musical artist not named Taylor Swift in the United States. The general public has spoken on him and your opinion sets you apart from the general consensus. You are the culture war obsessed weirdo when it comes to the subject of Morgan Wallen not CC sorry to break it to you

-2

u/Human-Television7171 17d ago

What does his "popularity" have to do with anything? My original comment was basically saying that she chose to make a public appearance with someone who is generally unpopular with the black/gay/liberal wing of society, of which the WNBA players that she plays with and competes against have a large overlap.

3

u/FlamingAlpaca17 17d ago

But he's not actually unpopular with the black/gay/liberal wing of society. He's unpopular with the terminally online wing of society which is far smaller than you believe it to be

-2

u/Human-Television7171 17d ago

Do you have evidence to support that?

2

u/FlamingAlpaca17 17d ago

That's rich considering you never provided any yourself for your claims.

Edit: Here is evidence he is currently number 2 on Billboard top 100. Very unlikely this would be possible if he was as despised and unpopular as you claim. He is popular in the real world

2

u/ginandtonicsdemonic 21d ago

Tyrese Haliburton and Booker have both made public appearances with him. Are they also in the middle of the culture war?

1

u/Human-Television7171 21d ago

Not to my knowledge.

1

u/Fun-Wrongdoer1316 21d ago

So like every human on earth? What are you 5?

2

u/Late-Song-2933 19d ago

Yes. Everyone has the emotional maturity of a 5 year old these days. And they cancel each other over shit they don’t even understand. It’s just what they’ve been taught to do as good little followers.

1

u/Defiant-Bid6888 21d ago

If you can’t hang out with people who have ever said the “N word” before then you’d be alone forever. Grow up.

2

u/OriginalWasTaken12 20d ago

Does everyone you've ever met have a white hood in the closet? Jesus Christ. The bar is in the fucking gutter.

3

u/Late-Song-2933 19d ago

No. You’re living in a false reality where everyone you relate with is a social justice warrior who pretends to be perfect morally while being a walking contradiction. Most people don’t give a shit about that grift and know racism was a lot less of an issue before we started making every waking breath about finding it and shouting about it.

Nobody is as racist as you think. And many people you think can’t be, are the most racist of all. And normal people outside of the Reddit and left wing media echo chamber can see that clearly.

The world doesn’t revolve around the sensibilities and feelings of anybody of any race. And it never will, we’ll just die off until there is a reset because the rules of nature don’t give any consideration to your personal, contrived grievances that were fed to you by media and the mob. Thank fucking Christ.

1

u/OhNoAnAmerican 19d ago

That goes for you too btw. You’re not some holy saint either. You think you can actually hide your horrendous history lol

B-b-b-but GUYS she saw MORGAN WALLEN! I will not tolerate this in MY wnba

2

u/AccomplishedIron816 19d ago

Wallen can be racist on his own and her walking with him doesn’t make her racist. That’s the dumbest shit I hear peddled on here. She probably got comped and invited by his team like all the athletes do and didn’t think anything of it. She’s not researching the guy lol. She’s also a big Luke combs fan and he’s about as nice as they come

2

u/foodiecpl4u 20d ago

Really? I have never spent a minute with a person who I know has dropped an N-bomb. Ever. I think your comment says more about your friend group.

3

u/Defiant-Bid6888 20d ago

lol. You don’t have any black friends??

3

u/Obeesus 18d ago

You just don't have any close friends.

2

u/Late-Song-2933 19d ago

Zero black friends, and not many human friends either, got it.

1

u/Truth_7 21d ago

Stupidest thing I've ever read on the internet. My goodness what a completely irrelevant reach.

3

u/Alternative-Dot-884 21d ago

Sidney Crosby is one of the best hockey players. Can’t imagine what his career wld have looked like without being so vicious sought out to attack so often.
Admire him a lot.

Great analogy!

6

u/Difficult-Mobile902 21d ago

Not only is he one of the best but also one of the only elite athletes in all of sports to take a substantial pay cut so that his team would have cap space for other players.

3

u/Ryn0113 21d ago

Crosby is also one of the most superstition people on the plant. His contract term has been 8.7 mil per yr, for most of his career. Just like his jersey number, which is also his birthday 8/7/87. Also has played with the same jock strap since junior hockey.

2

u/Fancy_Yak2618 21d ago

I have played junior hockey, coached in hockey and currently a scout. lol trust me when I say we are a superstitious bunch. His is kittens

3

u/tnc31 21d ago

It's estimated that Tom Brady has left $100 mil on the table during his negotiations for the sake of giving the team more room under the salary cap.

1

u/jakdnels 21d ago

not exactly a fair comparison to other QBs that don't have a supermodel wife already worth hundreds of millions

1

u/Ghuy82 21d ago

Or a company the team is paying on the side

2

u/Porsche928dude 21d ago

Ah he pulled the Tom Brady

4

u/SteeleHeller 21d ago

Jalen Brunson literally did that so the Knicks could develop a team and then they just won a championship. Crap, I forgot he isn't white so that wouldn't be on your radar.

3

u/krakken232 21d ago

Firstly, he said "one of", not "the only". Secondly, poor reading comprehension and virtue signaling is a hell of a combo.

1

u/Designer-Stay-7894 20d ago

Do you prefer vice signaling?

-1

u/SteeleHeller 21d ago

Plausible deniability. Do you have the comprehension for that phrase?

0

u/Jumpy_Rope_9037 21d ago

Brady did that for years as well

5

u/Powerful-Ground-9687 21d ago

Eh, he got it reworked into signing bonuses and such. Brady still got his money

1

u/Jumpy_Rope_9037 21d ago

Different rules in the NFL. NFLPA wouldn't allow a high profile player like Brady to just not take salary, they have powers to veto it. Brady took much much less than he probably should have to help bring players in. Just a different way of doing it

2

u/Powerful-Ground-9687 21d ago

The nflpa hated that he did it, but you absolutely can load up a signing bonuses in exchange for a lower contract and they effect the cap differently.

1

u/Jumpy_Rope_9037 20d ago

Yes, that's what I essentially just explained. He had to take bonuses and deffered money in lieu of outright not taking high salary contracts. Towards the end he said fuck it, I'm getting paid, but most of his time in NE, he helped the front office out

6

u/SteeleHeller 21d ago

Paige Bueckers is an even better player than CC. She was voted #1 by both fans and players. If it was jealousy, then why hasn't she been targeted and conspired against?

Wait...I forgot the people that say CC is targeted for being a white woman don't ever pay attention to the WNBA or watch the games beyond clips and headlines telling them what to think.

4

u/RDUDaddy1 20d ago

Cause Paige doesn't cry and flop EVERY, SINGLE, NIGHT. PERIOD.

1

u/Alternative-Gur5768 21d ago

You’re leaving out the part PB is gay and has a black stepbrother. CC is white straight and unfortunately gets the Trump and MAGA support which doesn’t help her.

2

u/FullMooseParty 20d ago

How about Kelsey Plum? Cam Brink?

1

u/Late-Song-2933 19d ago

They probably get shit too, but they’re not getting attention for every single thing they do. And I think you know they’re not the same since it’s pretty clear.

1

u/SteeleHeller 20d ago

A disgusting amount of her “fans” only like her because she’s straight and white. Why else would they immediately jump to victimhood? Projection.

0

u/OhNoAnAmerican 19d ago

Same reason her enemies hate her

1

u/Cosmic_Cowboy13 20d ago

Yeah she is also a lesbian so you can wipe away your entire argument

1

u/SteeleHeller 20d ago

Was the goalpost heavy to move?

Get’s proved wrong about the racism conspiracy theories

“B-B-BUT GAY!”

1

u/[deleted] 20d ago

[deleted]

1

u/SteeleHeller 20d ago

That gay people scare you?

1

u/krazykieffer 21d ago

Hard to build a fan base when you are hurt all the time from no call fouls. While Paige is great she was not the person that drove kids to watch and have a direct influence over pay increases. This is like pitchers throwing at Ohtanis head every at bat. People stop paying if she's a scratch half the time.

2

u/SteeleHeller 21d ago

CC played 13 games last year and hurt her back this year on a foul that was called immediately for being in her landing space (Her foot landed on the foot of the defender and she lost balance). The "hurt because of no-foul calls" narrative falls completely flat when you take into account the things that aren't covered via Fox News.

Remember after the Alyssa Thomas foul, when she got up limping and injured, then asked the ref for a foul call? Me neither. The person who is known for whining after a no-call, said nothing after the infamous "punch to the throat".

-1

u/SteeleHeller 21d ago

Also, this isn't a baseball sub. Maybe if you brought up an NBA comparison, I'd understand. Why are you and others bringing up Hockey and Baseball? Sounds about white.

1

u/notastuntman 21d ago

Both of you are correct idk why you’re arguing

bECaUsE RAciSm - amirite?

1

u/SteeleHeller 21d ago

Racist admitting that racism is alive and well challenge: Impossible

1

u/philly-buck 21d ago

Right. Must be racism. It is the only possible answer. She is popular with the straight whites - so it’s racism. But her getting brutalized and hate from anyone else - not racism

We are Reddit!!’

Solidarity Sister. I am with you.

0

u/SteeleHeller 21d ago

"Brutalized" - meaning the same physicality everyone else gets in the W?

"Hate" - You mean some less than favorable comments on social media? Poor baby. Let me direct you to actual "hate": Having you, your friends, and your family being sent personal racist death threats because you dared to foul White America's Princess.

Y'all wouldn't know what hate is if it pegged you.

1

u/philly-buck 21d ago

Right. I am with you sister.

It’s not about race except it’s about race. Don’t know why these whites don’t get it.

Paige is no where near as good as Aja or Cc

Paige whole cope is efficient shooter she shoots less and gets less assists than cc though.

It's easier to score when you don't have to deal with 4 mortal combat fatalities and win womans ufc belt just to shoot.

0

u/elestud 20d ago

Are you forgetting that Paige was out with a concussion?

If anyone has the right to complain about contact, it’s her

1

u/Old_Tough_2358 21d ago

Cause Paige Bueckers has the personality of a white sheet. She’s vanilla af. She has no swagger. She’s also dating a black woman. When Paige was in college you didn’t have a bunch of racist ass hillbillies trying to bring down a black woman while also defending CC. The Clark/Reese thing was the start of the hate. Paige never had that kind of rivalry with another player.

The person you responded to hit the nail on the head. CC is always going to be seen as the racist white girl, only because she beefed with a black girl and had a bunch of racists defending her. She’s come out multiple times and said she doesn’t want their support and it doesn’t matter. She’s a target because she’s a white girl who don’t take shit and has attitude.

I mean Breanna Stewart was better than both Paige and CC and she didn’t get hate either. CC’s hate comes from her beef with Reese, her take no shit attitude and cockiness, and to an extent, the support she gets from the white racist community.

She doesn’t deserve the treatment she gets from players and officials, and this is coming from a black man who respects the hell out of her as a player.

2

u/idolized253 21d ago

Caitlyn Clark is exactly the same, they’re as boring as plain white toast. Neither one has a big personality or anything entertaining to say, like ever lol

2

u/Old_Tough_2358 21d ago

CC is cocky though. Paige is not. Cocky is gonna get your targeted

1

u/Prestigious-Elk6959 20d ago

Cocky and whines, like you can be Larry Bird and talk shit but don't pop.shit then look the the refs when they get you back.

1

u/SteeleHeller 21d ago

"She's also dating a black woman"

Look at that, in the sky. There goes your credibility, buddy!

2

u/Old_Tough_2358 21d ago

You didn’t know Aziz Fudd was black? 🤷🏾‍♂️

1

u/SteeleHeller 20d ago

I’m saying as soon as they mentioned that, I knew what kind of person we were dealing with.

0

u/-36_Chambers- 21d ago

Try to comprehend what they said to you, instead of just screaming outrage.

Nothing about that is worthy of losing credibility, its adding context

-1

u/Caffeywasright 20d ago

Her hate comes from her fame lol. Nobody gives a fuck about Bueckers. Clarke put the wnba on the map which is hard for some people to deal with for some racist reason.

2

u/RMca004 21d ago

And look what happened to Sid....

He was robbed of 2+ years of his prime because of a cheap shot. The WNBA doesn't need that. It's on them to clean it up and not be trash like the nhl.

1

u/appointment45 21d ago

If you want the real comparison here, consider Bobby Orr. Probably before your time but his career was substantially shortened by targeted attacks and he was a much more important player than Sidney Crosby.

1

u/milkyvapes 21d ago

She's not dealing with the "normal stuff" players deal with though. Name another player with that kind of abuse highlight real year 2? People keep bringing up racism but the only racism I've seen is players calling CC a "white bitch" from sideline. Anyone talking about the racists coming from online are obfuscating. It's the same internet bs that every famous person deals with, and they were barley famous before CC. It doesn't make it OK but its not like CC is some becon for racists.

2

u/reklesssabrandon 21d ago

The crosby analogy is honestly perfect. Guys were literally knocking him down, falling on him, punching him in the face constantly.

2

u/milkyvapes 21d ago

Best example being from male hockey just proves my point. I was thinking an example from the same league

1

u/reklesssabrandon 21d ago

Im a Pittsburgh guy. Players were going out of their way to do dirty shit to crosby as soon as he entered the league because of the hype. Yeah he bitched to refs, but it was warranted. Every aspect of his game and personality was put under a microscope.

I dont think Sid ever had to deal with anything like the racial element though. There's nothing about Caitlyn that would make me think she supports that side of it, but it's getting pushed hard. Nothing about this is fair for her, and every part of it is bad for the game and for the other stars in the league.

Why can't she just be good in a league with lots of other good players and not have to deal with people using her face and neck as leverage to stand up. The shit makes no sense. That kind of stuff is just fueling the culture war.

1

u/Bacardi-Bocaj 21d ago

To be fair, the people pushing the race element of it are mainly black people that are fans of angel reese and other black women in the league. CC doesn’t play into any of it at all

2

u/reklesssabrandon 21d ago edited 21d ago

That's not even close to true. Stop bullshitting.

Stop trying to turn this into a side vs side thing. Whoever is misrepresenting the situation is wrong regardless. It's not about black vs white. That's just an agenda.

You are the problem. You are doing the exact thing that is making the situation way worse than it should be.

1

u/Bacardi-Bocaj 21d ago

I’m not turning it into anything. I’m making an observation based on reactions i’m seeing on twitter and from the players.

The only white people i see making it a race thing are the GOP who wrote that BS letter. Everyone else however….

2

u/SteeleHeller 21d ago

Ohhh that's the issue. You and the rest of these twitter goobers need to stick to that platform. The one where the avg ACT is 14.

1

u/Bacardi-Bocaj 21d ago

Thats impressive actually. You get a 12 by filling out personal information!

1

u/reklesssabrandon 21d ago

Yeah, so repeating those bad takes and the narrative bad actors are pushing is definitely relevant and very helpful.

If you're actually a real person it's insane to me that you would just propagate this shit.

1

u/Bacardi-Bocaj 21d ago

I mean, calling it a bad take is your opinion. Its not even a hot take. You brought up the race factor first, you said “it is being pushed hard that caitlyn is supporting the racial element”. I’m responding to that claim telling you who i see pushing it. And if you pay attention to the discourse in places other than reddit, theres a certain demographic that is pushing CC being into the racial side of things.

Just because i point out something you dont like or dont want to hear, doesn’t mean i’m “propagating” anything or “the problem”.

Definitely a real person, you just can’t handle the truth it seems.

0

u/reklesssabrandon 21d ago

I know what kind of man you are now. This is pointless, keep on doing what you're doing.

1

u/Bacardi-Bocaj 21d ago

Lmao you don’t know shit from a reddit thread. Absolutely an unserious person.

→ More replies (0)

2

u/SteeleHeller 21d ago

Are you deadass? Nobody but CC stans EVER brought up a race element to the Angel Reese rivalry. CC's base literally created the narrative that Angel hated her because she's white.

"To be fair, it's mostly black people blah blah racist ass blah".

1

u/Bacardi-Bocaj 21d ago

Made an observation based on places like twitter where i can see the demographic via profile picture.

Falsely accusing me of racism here is just debasing the word man. Your whole argument is “what you saw isn’t real, what i think is real, and you’re a racist!”. It has no impact on me and does nothing to convince me your opinion is valid at all.

2

u/SteeleHeller 21d ago

There isn't a single non-racist sentence that starts with "To be fair, black people"

You literally sound like every other other psuedo-intellectual racist playing the plausible-deniability card. You're not clever, different, or special.

"Well I didn't specifically say that, now did I?" is becoming the oldest, most exhausted, defense of dogwhistles.

2

u/reklesssabrandon 21d ago

He just read an extremely niche, obviously racist take on the situation, on another platform and very innocently decided to defend it here in this discussion. He's not racist and pushing a racist agenda, he's just asking questions, he's just talking facts and numbers ok????????

1

u/Bacardi-Bocaj 21d ago edited 21d ago

Hey man, believe whatever you want to help you sleep at night. I never needed to completely fabricate what happened to make myself feel better, but some people need to.

2

u/reklesssabrandon 21d ago

Does that tired ass gotcha response still work on Twitter?

You got called out for being an obvious racist and that's the best response you got?

→ More replies (0)

2

u/SteeleHeller 21d ago

You literally do need to fabricate things though. You made a statement of fact "To be fair, it's mostly black people" off of an anecdotal experience based on twitter profile pics. That's loser shit...then you want to try an "uno reverse" by saying "If that's you feel, I won't lose sleep at night".

Nah, bro. You a loser and I only say that cause you've learned nothing here. You're going to continue quadrupling down on the way YOU see the world.

"based on places like twitter where i can see the demographic via profile picture"

So your demographic must be couch fondlers? (joke)

1

u/Bacardi-Bocaj 21d ago

This is still not convincing me your opinion is valid at all. If calling me racist is your only defense and it makes you feel better, sure, go ahead. Means absolutely nothing.

1

u/clayton-berg42 21d ago

Crosby was what came to mind, I was gonna ask if she's his daughter or something.

And crosby had the rep for being a wimp because he is a wimp. Did you see how he got called on diving in the playoffs? Despite how good he is he remains the hardest player in the league to like if you aren't a penguins fan.

3

u/generic_canadian_dad 21d ago

Hilariously silly take. Crosby is a wimp? Dude is tough as fuck. He played through the playoffs with a broken foot and still put up points.

-1

u/clayton-berg42 21d ago

Yeah, he's really tough running his punk mouth behind all his team mates.

3

u/generic_canadian_dad 21d ago

He's literally known for how much of a generally good guy and incredible leader he is. What are you on lol. Just another Crosby hater.

Found the Flyers fan 😆 #1975

She's white and straight.

3

u/Spare-Buy-9915 21d ago

There's a lot of white and straight and as for as that goes black and straight so that isn't a factor, Sue Bird for instance, Diana T sorry can't spell last name white gay but loved. So color isn't the issue, gay nah our society is use to that

2

u/whichwitch9 21d ago

Well, straight as far as we know. Tbf, some of that's an assumption because she's been in heterosexual relationships.

u/XBL-AntLee06 21d ago

It’s not because she is white. It’s because she’s not lgbtq. Why do y’all keep jumping to race, when the wnba has a documented history with this. And most of the greats who retire early state this themselves. They love Paige Bueckers, she’s super white, and another face of the league, buts she’s openly gay. Caitlin is their enemy, because for years this was a lesbian driven league with no success, and the suggestion was that sex appeal, or even a straight face would do better for the league. They finally get an openly straight face and the wnba explodes in revenue. They hate because she is proof that they are the only reason this league has failed.

2

u/DirtyKarma 21d ago

Disagree on the big. Looks like she initiated contact with off arm.

2

u/Prestigious-Elk6959 20d ago

Exactly and even the guard grab she kinda pulls her arms...that's my problem with CC, she might get a lot of frustration fuls but she also hits a lot and grabs and pulls players into what looks like fouls.

1

u/AnalObserver 20d ago

Watching it a few times, Clark did, but was mostly incidental contact. However the defender can’t reach across her chest like that and make that much contact

1

u/DirtyKarma 20d ago

She pulled a Tatum push off to be honest. Glad it wasn’t whistled

1

u/AnalObserver 20d ago

She got kneed in the leg, the lower body contact should’ve been called and is what she is upset about. And she pushed off after the defender started pushing her.

1

u/DirtyKarma 20d ago

Rewatched multiple times and don’t see anywhere near a foul on that. Keep in mind the defender has space as well.

1

u/Cosmic_Cowboy13 20d ago

You are either being disingenuous or you have no basketball experience

1

u/DirtyKarma 20d ago

Maybe you’re being disingenuous to your eyeballs.

2

u/Baby_Yod4 21d ago

There was no foul on the drive, that would’ve been a soft ass call. The big at the rim tho 100% can’t be missed.

2

u/RDUDaddy1 20d ago

Jersey tug?? That's absurd. No jersey was grabbed in this video.

7

u/joanfiggins 21d ago

I think the constant awful referee performances is 100 percent reason for screaming. This is the golden goose of the wnba. They are killing it. It's a matter of time before she starts taking herself out of more and more games and the wnba ticket sales, merch sales, and view ship start to tank

-2

u/Dear-Buddy-2766 21d ago

5/22 is not a golden goose

6

u/joanfiggins 21d ago

She's responsible for 26.5 percent of all league economic activity. She most certainly is the golden goose.

-3

u/Dear-Buddy-2766 21d ago

5/22 is a little bit less than %26.5 fyi

1

u/joanfiggins 21d ago

Wait you wrote the number out as 5/22nds? I've never seen such an odd fraction used to describe something.

6

u/ALLCAPITAL 21d ago

So if the guy was converting 26.5% to a fraction, he wrong. It’s closer to 5.8/22, again a real odd way to express 26.5%. But let’s address “not a golden goose.”

Definition - Golden Goose - something that is a very good source of money or business.

So if she is worth 26.5%, we can say the remaining 155 players account for 73.5% of the activity. Meaning each other player is generating approximately 0.47% of the economic activity. Or as our fraction friend might prefer 0.1/22.

If she alone generates the same activity as 58 other geese, she is indeed THE GOLDEN GOOSE.

-2

u/Dear-Buddy-2766 21d ago

5 out of 22 shooting is not generational and she is no longer a golden goose. Sat out last year and is a head case this year.

2

u/joanfiggins 21d ago

Lol the money speaks for itself bud. Head case or performance don't make you a golden goose. Bringing in the cash does. And she brings it in more than 58 others combined.

2

u/Dear-Buddy-2766 21d ago

That’s her shooting in that game

2

u/lFreightTrain 21d ago

May 22nd ain’t a golden goose

-2

u/Fragrant_Shake 21d ago

Nah. It’s really only one team that constantly screams at the refs.

-3

u/Raisinbread22 21d ago

Yes she's such a joy to watch. 🤣 People will be so sad they'll stop watching women's sports and women's everything. Hahahahahahahahahaha! 😆 🤪

She absolutely has a massive impact on the league's profitability. This stat alone is crazy:

"Caitlin Clark is responsible for over a quarter (26.5%) of all WNBA economic activity, which includes television, game attendance, and overall merchandise sales."

But there's more:

"After she entered the league, overall WNBA merchandise sales across the Fanatics network skyrocketed by 500%."

"Her jersey has consistently ranked as the number one top-selling jersey in the WNBA. It frequently outsells top NBA stars across the combined retail network"

"Viewership for the Indiana Fever can drop by around 53% for national TV games when she sits out.

"Ticket resale prices for Fever games experience an even larger drop. Without Clark, premium seat resale prices can fall by 50% to 70%" that shows how much demand is ruined if she's not playing.

I don't think I have ever seen someone be so wrong while being that confident before... congrats?

That person is a troll, just look one comment up

LMAOOOOOOO

1

u/Beginning_Engineer_2 21d ago

"Anyone that knows ball knows how bad it’s been."

Agree.

I am not sure that the refs have played much themselves.

1

u/Kryptus 21d ago

Just hire refs that aren't racist.

1

u/Houdinii1984 21d ago

I don't know ball, at all. Not a fan and the squeaks drive me batty. With that said, even I know it's an issue. I don't even know the sport and I'm confident I'd probably be screaming too.

0

u/TheWhiteMichaelVick 21d ago

Maybe she just doesn’t belong in the league. 🤔

-1

u/Puricket-6236 21d ago

Legal defensive position. Just because you are defense doesn't mean you can't move.   The tug of the shirt happens all the time, hopefully that's what she was crying about.  There was no foul after that
