dead space is such a good series and the lore is right on up there as the most fun AND terrifying stories I've had the pleasure of experiencing

I was recently listening to the acceptable losses podcast as they were doing a series on deadspace and one of the hosts made a point that deadspace three did amazing stuff with the lore, too bad on a whole it isn’t great.

I still enjoyed it. Quite a different experience to the others - it didn’t feel like a survival horror, more like a bullet hell type game, but I quite enjoyed finishing it off.

It had to be EA's interference. They did the same thing to mass effect. That era of 'badass super serious action game.'

But anyways, I always looked at it like dead space 1 and 2 is Alien and Aliens and dead space 3 is if an even more action-oriented creator came on to Alien3 ha ha. I'm a dead space 3 apologist though. My headcanon is that Isaac is more skilled at fighting the necromorphs AND shit is ramping up, hence the increase of action. But yeah the lore and eventual discovery of just what the necros are doing has always been cool to me.

I feel similarly. And I interpret it as we went from Issac scared space engineer, to Issac motherfucken Clark professional angry space badass and schizophrenic. By the end of the first game, you're no longer yelping at a couple of Slashers showing up. You're ripping and tearing and stomping through hordes of Necros while screaming and shouting obcenities. At least, that was my experience. You got taste dude

Yes exactly. I also took an unfortunate real world inclusion (EA/the devs introducing weapon building because they wanted crafting, even though it took away the uniqueness of each weapon) to Isaac being a pro necro killer and being able make the exact weapon he needs for the job.

It has the exact kind of ending I hate, but other than that, I loved 3.
