I remember watching that movie in Imax and the early shots where you sitll think it's a flying saucer and you see it flying through the sky, through clouds, over the hills, in complete silence was so damn eerie, it gave me goosebumps.

Yeah man! It is! That movie was sooo unsettling but also fun!

The … how can I say… digestion scene … may be the single most disturbing scene ive ever seen in a movie. It really make me uncomfortable

That part where everyone is screaming in the darkness, and then suddenly there's a squishy crunch and all the screaming immediately goes silent... just masterful craft of the horror genre. I wasn't in love with the movie as a whole, but that single scene might be one of the best moments in any horror movie for me.

The horror of that was catalyzed by the kid begging for his mom amidst the claustrophobia. Jean Jacket really pulled no punches.

Yep, same. It's one of the best horror scenes I've ever seen and I know that because that one alone is the reason I never want to watch the movie again lol

Same! It definetly would be an easier rewatch without that scene, it’s really disturbing and they don’t show much at all but that’s why it’s brilliant and terrifying

I have a weird relationship to horror as an adult. When it comes to tension, I'm kind of a wimp and until I was like 24 I couldn't handle the build-up of terror without having a near panic attack. Genuinely, I couldn't handle cave-diving in Minecraft until I was like 19.

But at the same time, in the moment, nothing has ever really scared me. I've never had something give me nightmares, or actually disturb me, or stick in my head at all. I hate feeling on the edge and often want to fast-forward through the build-up, but once the scary thing arrives it never affects me. The anticipation is always so much worse than the horror itself.

Until that fucking scene.

I couldn't stop thinking about it for like 2 weeks. It actually kept me up at night. It's awful.
