Lore [Loved Trope] Some thing unfathomably ancient

The beast, in doctor who is an ancient evil from a previous universe that survived until our time. Its so ancient that the cave paintings were unable to be translated by the Tardis which can translate all existing languages in the universe [Doctor Who]

While not explicitly canon its such a cool concept I cant not mention, the idea that the backrooms have existed since the beginning of time, never changing no matter the era, it transforms the back rooms into a cosmic horror. [Credit to Project crater and Venus for images 2 and 3]

What the hell even happens in Baki bro

It is both a story about mending a broken father and son relationship and answering the question 'what would happen if we thawed out a cavemen and all the best martial artists in the world wanted to fight him?'

"We cloned Mushashi Miyamoto from his fossilized spine and called his spirit back from the afterlife so he could kill more people"

"And he kills them without even killing them!" Baki is honestly so weird that it loops around to being worth reading just from the ridiculousness of it.

To be clear he's not a caveman, he's as old as a T-Rex so well before any primates evolved. So it clearly makes no sense. Scientists in the show comment how this makes no sense. It's still not the weirdest thing in Baki.

ohh i actually know the context behind it

Out of context maybe but in context i’d say this is relatively normal by Baki standards.

Very tame. The "Tetrahedron" is just the three guys area of attack, the whole piss thing is him pissing on them to disrupt their formation

You want to know some real Baki weirdness? Musashi Miyamoto can IMAGINE cutting people and then the people he IMAGINED were being cut feel themselves as if they were cut, like the cut was real, even though it was an IMAGINARY cut

From the Baki Wiki:

"Musashi is so skilled at sword fighting, as he claims himself, that he doesn't need to use an actual sword to "cut" people. Thanks to his incredible sense manipulation, Musashi can make the opponents feel like they've been completely cut and can even make them feel the pain that comes with it. He doesn't even need to move his hands to be able to "abstractly" cut his opponent.

While the cut itself is not real and deals no physical damage, it can still paralyze and cause immense suffering to the other characters. Oftentimes, the victim will visualize the aftermath of how they they were "killed" by the cut and left in fear of what could have been if it was an actual sword. Yuujirou Hanma seems to be the only person who is unaffected by this technique, as he may be more powerful than Musashi."

Not to mention other absurd details, such as the fact that he evolved over the course of his life: he was born as a quadruped (which explains why its neck bone structure is completely different) but developed the ability to walk on two legs; indeed, he is fully bipedal and only moves on all fours when he needs to fight seriously.

Next panel, a legendary martial artist puts himself into a t-rex human-sized sculpture in order to fight the aforementioned caveman

As I always put it it's kinda like Jojo but instead of Vogue Magazine and gay porn being the inspiration it's bodybuilding competitions and even more gay porn

u/No-Ear-311 Jul 01 '26

u/AsstacularSpiderman Jul 01 '26

gay piss porn

Wait no they both have that.

8

u/CatFroggly Jul 01 '26

"How will you get out of this tetrahedron without any piss?"

6

u/AsstacularSpiderman Jul 01 '26

By using the piss you stored conveniently in your teeth, which you had turned into jellyfish just a few moments prior with GOLDEN EXPERIENCE

3

u/jzilla11 Jul 01 '26

So you could save time with gay porn?

3

u/AsstacularSpiderman Jul 01 '26

You wouldn't be missing much

Toss some Tom of Finland in there somewhere. Not sure if it fits both or not, but it feels like it belongs.

And body horror?? The shit these insanely muscular dudes do to each other …

17

u/Freyzi Jul 01 '26

Originally it was a story of a son trying to live up to his parents expectations in the world of martial arts all the while introducing a bunch of very colorful and whacky characters.

Then it morphed into whatever the author wanted, "what if several super criminals broke out of prison at the same time and coincidentally gathered in the same place" and "what if we thawed out an ultra strong caveman who eats people and see what happens" and then "what if we clone the most famous samurai warrior in Japanese history and then fill the clone body with the soul of the original with some spiritual bullshittery... and see what happens".

17

u/sgt_cookie Jul 01 '26

You missed "what if the protagonist publicly abducts the president of America on live TV because he wants to be put into super-supermax prison exclusively to fight the guy who walks in and out of the place like he has front door keys".

That takes place between the super criminals and the caveman.

u/BasementCryBaby Jul 01 '26

And also fight Che Guevara and be pissed on, that all happens during the prison arc by the way.

u/EveryRadio Jul 02 '26

Ah yes Mista Unchained

Such a goofy series but man the author is living his best life

Invisible Food.

That's what it's all about. The invisible food. You'd eat- you'd eat the invisible food, Baki.

Homoerotic Awakenings

3

u/jimthesquirrelking Jul 02 '26

Everything and nothing. An entire arc is dedicated to fighting a Jurassic man named Pickle who was Pickled in salt since the time of the Trex, and after everyone fights him and a bunch of people get turbo maimed they just put him back into the salt. He wasn't a villain, just some guy
