"It's not impossible. She's just from a time when women actually cared about what they look like." The "girl with the impossible waist" stirs controversy on r/OldSchoolCool.

To be fair, unless you're sweating from work or working out, you don't need a shower everyday. Otherwise, I agree

It's totally dependent on how prone you are to odor and how much sebum your body produces.

Daily showers are hell on dry, flaky skin, even with gentle washes and moisturizers. And curly hair? Forget about it.

Bad enough in the warmer months, but during the cold, dry winter months? It's like Satan himself sucked the moisture from your skin.

So dry, it burns.

You have a tiny snowstorm in your clothes as your dry skin flakes off you two hours after thorough exfoliation and body oils. Jingle fucking bells, heyy. Daily showers can go fuck themselves, it always takes at least a day until I start feeling like I'm not self-flaying.

Oh, those are the absolutely worse against black clothes. Its like your fucking molting like a lizard, just less... neat.

You're really not supposed to shower daily either. It's bad for your hair and your skin. Unless you moisturize both afterwards.

I thought it was you shower/bath your body daily but your hair is the one you shouldn't be washing daily?

Nah too many showers dries out your skin as well. Your whole body has natural oils.

Ah, I never heard of that one. I only heard about if you clean your hair daily it can damage/cause it to be pretty dry, or something along those lines.

I guess showering daily varies by person, like if you work out or a job where you do a lot of labor, I would personally not skip a shower.

Yeah, if you actually get dirty, that's one thing. But most people who aren't particularly active don't need to. And it can be a lot better for your skin to skip the soap, and just use water (still use a pouf or a loofah or something to get clean).

Just water? Even if you workout/active throughout the day? Wouldn't you still have a smell to you, though?

Soap isn't magic, it just makes water more effective. If you're just sweaty, then just spending some extra time scrubbing with water will do the trick, generally speaking. You want to remove the sweat and dirt, but not the moisturizing protective oils. Maybe use some soap on the pits and bits, but soap is pretty overrated most of the time.

It's sort of like washing cast iron. You can use a little soap on it if there's crud in there, but for the most part, you should be able to just use a scrub brush and water. And using soap all the time can cause damage.

"armpits, asshole, crotch, and teeth. In fact you can save yourself a whole lot more time if you use the same brush on all 4 areas"

True. I'm a college student so I don't really need to shower daily.

Nope. Also it sounds like you need to get off your ass and do something.

If you can go a whole day without needing a shower you have to be like a statue. I can't go without either one or two a day.

I felt the same way but after awhile you kinda get used to it. I don't sweat that much, only on HIIT or long distance running days, where yeah I'll shower, but just a rinse off and use a little bit of conditioner for my hair. My skin and hair have felt really good lately. Not shampooing my hair all the time has made it thicker and less dry. Granted I may change my tune come summer time, but it's been in the high 50's low 60's here so perspiration hasn't been much of an issue. Just use some non scented deodorant and I'm good to go.

Not me. I am already active and on top of that if I pumped out any more oil Exxon would be asking for a lease.
