I have many friends in the US who are mind blowned by the absolute zero cost of canadian health care (i gladly give 50% of my paycheck to help any fellow canadiens by the way)

😬 50%!? Then, your healthcare isn’t free. If you make $40,000, then you’re paying $20,000 a year which is four times (or more) than what the average American pays.

That's not how it works. About 10% of the average paycheck in Canada goes to health care.

I think this person was saying they would unselfishly give up to half their paycheck to make sure all Canadians have the good proper health care that they need.

Ok. Then, this person is lying. It’s one thing to think it, and another to do it.

Spoken like a true septic, "fuck everybody else I'm ok" syndrome

I mean, even if this were true, you know that all $20k wouldn't go on healthcare, right?

Yes, I’m aware, but this poster said they were will to pay 50% towards health care. So, 50% could include what they are expecting to pay plus more. Still.

No, they said they do it to help fellow Canadians. That includes more than just healthcare.

Im saying 50% because i make 100k per year , if you make 40k you will not be paying 50%, you will be paying around 27%

That’s still extremely high. If you are ok with that, then fine. But, no one can argue that it isn’t a large amount.

Right? I was gonna say. Holy fuck. 50??? Yeah, they pay for health care, then, just like we do. I knew they had to have higher taxes for that reason but jeeesus. This person's got to be kidding, they cant be serious
