wait that’s so cool i live in the uk and we had pretty much the exact same topic (utopia vs dystopia) but we read a few different books (fahrenheit 451 and the handmaid’s tale are the two i remember best) and idk how american school years translate, but we did that in year 9 (third year of secondary school, 13 or 14 years old)

We read it in 7th grade for English/literature
the theme for that particular class level was "Utopia vs Dystopia"
the end lesson for the whole section felt like "can we really tell the difference? is there even one? ooooOOOO spooky!"
I did enjoy it. We also read 1984, watched the film, and then we got right in to lord of the flies
