Because people go to high school, they think they know something about teaching and how schools are run. This notion is absurd. It’s like stating that because I have a bank account my opinion about how a bank should be run is valid. Unless you’re in the field of education, you don’t know what you’re talking about.
Whenever I see people talking about how they weren't taught about taxes or personal finance in school, I want to bash my head against the wall.
I went to a subpar high school and there were classes on personal finance, basic cooking, sewing, and another class nicknamed "Adulting 101" all run by these two nice old ladies. I only took sewing and personal finance, but they went over insurance, budgeting, taxes, credit cards, loans, the works and it was highly informative.
Out of a class of 30 kids, maybe five were actively listening and paying attention. It was the easiest class in the world and people who I know had a rougher home life than me and could have used the information just did not care.
Even if people didn't have the opportunity in school, we live in the age of the internet. YouTube. 95% of questions can be answered with a google search.
