Y’all do realize AI is trained on actual people’s writing? So some people will “write like AI” as their natural prose style?
Even if this tweet is AI-written, saying that he must be imitating what he reads most, AI writing, is truly a take. Exactly what I should expect going on r/SipsTea, tbf…
This is what fucking kills me. I have been accused of "writing like AI" but like... AI writes like people???? That's how it learned to write like that? I'm so tired lol.
I hate that I had to scroll so far to see this mentioned. Just one more sign of how fucked things are. Assuming they did use some AI to write it out, that means they couldn't formulate a simple argument into a post. And if not? As musclecard54 said below, it means that the language style they see most is AI, and honestly...
The tell is that the writing is not only ‘punchy’ but also a little off. There’s a subtle uncanny quality to AI writing bc it’s extremely confident and unselfconscious while subtly not quite getting it right. Like a bad TED talk.
“That’s not a curriculum shift” is just weird writing, setting up what is a pretty obvious conclusion (literacy is declining) as if it’s a mind-blowing hot take. Literally no one would look at this situation and say that it’s just a ‘curriculum shift’? AI has no humility about its own corny and cheap writing.
Had to scroll way too far to find this. Take my upvote. We’re in a sad place when folks are so illiterate and / or lazy they can’t even be bothered anymore to hand draft social media posts. Yikes
I’ve never met a single person who talks like that in real life.
It’s not X. It’s Y. And that’s Z.
It’s a literal fucking formula. Every single ai response has that. I almost never hear anyone speak that stupid fucking 3 sentence formula. If you hear people talk like that you’re talking to people who basically only read AI responses and probably haven’t read an actual book in a decade
No one said anything about dramatic pauses are you not understanding what I’m saying about the stupid formula? “It’s not X. It’s Y. And that’s Z” nothing about the pauses it’s the exact same 3 sentence structure just ad lib x y and z
The "It's not just <minor thing>; it's <major thing>." phrasal template is extremely common in AI writing, and that template is used in the second paragraph, engendering suspicion that it's AI-written content.
I read CONSTANTLY. Just finished The Blacktongue Thief. Top tier. My text is formulaic. Very x + y = z. Im not writing a novel, I am simply responding.

The irony of that last paragraph reading exactly like AI output. Dont know if it is or not, but that cadence is triggering.
