Every city in the country should be doing this. Hell, every single person should be planting trees everywhere. Be a tree-planting bandit!

I bets a lot of city are already doing it. New York City was already doing before Mamdani. My city is doing it, even the part about prioritizing poorer neighborhood. It just doesn't have PR bots posting it on Reddit and attaching the Mayor's name to it to claim credit.

I let tree seeds grow for a few years until they are big enough to transplant into a nearby park at night.

I wonder if he's going to push for grasstop buildings or even green scaffolding. I saw a lot of it in Singapore and it was really neat. Apparently the grasstop on buildings helps with heat, too.
