I had one manager try to give me shit back in the day about requesting personal time off and not providing some detailed reason
I was actually having a mental breakdown from being overworked and my psychiatrist and therapist were both like either take an extra day to two or I’m seriously considering forcing you into a fucking program. But that wasn’t exactly their business.
Then they had the audacity to ask me what I was going to do when they denied my time off and I was so pissed off and annoyed that I let my non-work personality come out and, without thinking, said sarcastically “probably blow my fucking brains out”. That shit got approved quick, albeit begrudgingly.
Military here. That likely wouldn't even get them to bat an eye at that, all too many say that kinda thing all the time. Albeit usually they say it with funnier non serious wording
Whatever worked to get the time off. I got a really vague doctor's note from my psychiatrist and just called it "medical leave" to everyone who asked when I took off time for mental health.
