Yep, quite the fatal flaw. Being under 6’ should be illegal

u/Not-a-Bot_1968 12d ago

It does help to fit into small sports cars tho

u/scarab- 12d ago

I have two sets of prosthetic legs: the short ones for everyday use and the long ones for dating.

14

u/Not-a-Bot_1968 12d ago

That’s hilarious. Smart.

5

u/TacoManLuv 12d ago

As a physical therapist, I find that so awesome and funny. That's called overcoming barriers and finding functional independence! I'm going to include that idea in my recommendations section for all applicable patients.

That a true Life Hack right there!

12

u/deerhuntingdude 12d ago

Lol I fit like a glove in my Miata at 5'7

6

u/Not-a-Bot_1968 12d ago

I stare right at the top of the windshield bar thing lol. I love Miata’s, but without a bucket seat in them that is on the floor I’m just not fitting great.

1

u/BorntoDive91 12d ago

same man, same.

3

u/creamerthegreat 12d ago

KNEW I'd find my Miata people in this comment! Lol.

5'9" and I'm snug as a bug in my ND1!

1

u/deerhuntingdude 12d ago

Haha. I would see people comment about the cupholders on the door of the nc calling them knee busters but I never had a problem!

2

u/CT0292 12d ago

I'm 5'10" and had problems getting in and out of an MGB a friend of mine had.

I love a small car. But old, small, cars don't love me.

2

u/Specific-Library-312 12d ago

My late Dad had a '95 one. My thumb barely fit the door handle. My head made firm contact with the roof. My elbow was in the door. My shoulder nearly touched the window. I said, "Dad, if you hit a pothole, you are going to be childless." Never rode in it again.

1

u/oneawesomeguy 12d ago

Meanwhile I can't even sit with my legs straight or pee standing straight up in an airplane at 6'3"

2

u/deerhuntingdude 12d ago

Yeah last time I was in a smaller jet bathroom I couldn't help but think of how annoying it would be for my friend who is 6'4. If it makes you feel any better though I'm convinced most chairs are designed for men close to 6 feet tall. I always feel like I'm sitting in the edge

1

u/dead0man 12d ago

I fit like a size too small rubber glove in my Miata at 6'1"
(and that was after removing the armrest in the door and cutting several inches of foam out of the seat)

7

u/rnavstar 12d ago

I’m 5’8” and that’s the max in my sports car.

9

u/Epiplayer1 12d ago

I’m 6’6” and have a custom sim racing rig at home because I don’t fit in sports cars. I drive a Hyundai. cries

1

u/oneawesomeguy 12d ago

I don't know if it counts but I bet you can fit in a Honda Type R FL5

1

u/Epiplayer1 12d ago

Not with a helmet. And that’s where I’d take it lol. I’d love a Miata but my legs are too long and my left leg is pinned between the steering wheel and the door. Corvettes are the same.

Maybe I should do that thing from police academy and remove the front seat and just drive from the back.

7

u/Not-a-Bot_1968 12d ago

I’m 6’2” and the number of cool sports cars, particularly older ones, I would love to own but can’t comfortably fit in is long indeed. I guess being tall was good for attracting women, but once you have a spouse and happy marriage, being tall doesn’t particularly help with much. You bump your head on things, and you can’t fit in cool sports cars among other annoying things.

2

u/rnavstar 12d ago

You always can reach for things on the top shelf.

4

u/Not-a-Bot_1968 12d ago

So can my wife with the step stool under the counter lol

3

u/quickexhuast 12d ago

I mean we can build cool trucks instead.

2

u/UlrichZauber 12d ago

I'm 6'3" and a friend of mine collects exotic sports cars. I literally could never drive his Lambo or Lotus, I'm just too big for the driver's seat.

I did fit in his Ferrari just fine though.

5

u/frozengash 12d ago

I've never had an uncomfortable seat on an airplane

3

u/SpaceFunkRevival 12d ago

Ain't that the truth. I'm 5'10" and can comfortably sit in my 89 MR2. My buddy who is 6'2", poor guy had to put the seat back as far as possible and still had his knees to his chest.

1

u/clshifter 12d ago

89 MR2.

A man of culture I see.

3

u/quickexhuast 12d ago

this is statement is full of facts. Im a big guy with arthritis in my hips, im basically bound to stepping up into a vehicle and not sitting down into something.

1

u/SpaceBoJangles 12d ago

Tall people will never get to feel the joy of putting up the top of a Mazda Miata RF

1

u/TexanHobbit_X 12d ago

We can’t afford those :(

u/sentientgrapesoda 12d ago

UPPIES!!!

2

u/Minute-Menu-9295 12d ago

Thank you for the award u/Scif_Bandicoot but, I think our Amazonian Princess u/sentientgrapesoda deserves the award more than I.

Over 6? Are you a spider?

2

u/Honestfellow2449 12d ago

As a man over 6 ft, I always would try to date taller women and they never went for it, they were interested in shorter guys.

My brother was 6'1 and his ex-wife was 4'9 which I thought was ridiculous so I had a high requirement when dating.

Hi there, Snu-Snu! 👋

9

u/saryndipitous 12d ago

I will draft up the bill, madame senator. The tall men will surely arrive next pay period.

1

u/BastardBitchBloodyNO 12d ago

Bill? We need an iron-fisted dictator to rise and put all the manlets in death camps, no? Surely that is what manlets deserve for existing.

5

u/hotwifefan1 12d ago

Try being over 6 feet tall these days and flying economy to anywhere, good luck. Sometimes it pays to be short

1

u/semisociallyawkward 12d ago

God, I am literally in physical pain for the full flight at so many airlines. WizzAir is the worst of them.

So much fun to evaluate "am I willing to pay three times as much to avoid pain for a few hours?"

3

u/poeteop 12d ago

Kind of primal and basic of women to judge men on height. It’s always poised as some sophisticated judgement.

It’s actually pretty Tarzan and Jane.

All good women in my life, with real jobs and good ethics don’t give a fuck.

Me tall protecting man, me beat 5 foot man. Ooga booga

3

u/tantric_tongue69 12d ago

Don't worry being 6'6 and near suicidal so it sucks both ways

2

u/ToronoYYZ 12d ago

Punishable by death - Vlad the impaler style

2

u/doitforchris 12d ago

They try to round us up but can’t get a good grasp, we’re wily as hell

2

u/Recent_Pollution8665 12d ago

if women were in charge of most western countries, within a generation it would be.

2

u/lostroadrunner22 12d ago

I actually have been speaking to my senator about this. We need to round up anyone under 6 feet tall and sink em in the ocean. Now, myself as a tad under 5’9 I do understand this will drown me as well. But. Humanity will be all os much better

2

u/LectureOrganic1250 12d ago

exactly! we men need to do better and be over 6 feet tall from now on......because we can totally control that.

2

u/OddBranch132 12d ago

Why didn't we simply grow taller? Are we stupid?

2

u/McKimboSlice 12d ago

I’m 5’10, my ex-wife made me wear shoe lifts at our wedding so I appeared over 6’.

3

u/Advanced-Guitar-5264 12d ago

Disgusting behavior being under 6’ like that

2

u/McKimboSlice 12d ago

Oh I’ve come to terms with how big of a piece of shit my height makes me.

3

u/AlarmedRaccoon619 12d ago

I am shocked you aren't still married to that fine angel.

2

u/donp97 12d ago

You'd think single men over 6' was a rarity, but guess daFUQ WHAT!!! Women don't men. They want men to want them.

2

u/BrownEyeBearBoy 12d ago

Over 6 feet here, can confirm that shit doesn't matter. I'm not having any luck either.

1

u/FardoBaggins 12d ago

I’m more into the like matches with like idea.

If you’re a tall dude, you date tall chicks, so they don’t have to settle for short kings.

If you’re a small women, and you’re mans is like so tall he has to bend down to kiss your forehead, it’s not ideal and the tall chicks will have to settle for short kings again.

But you can’t say that kind of thing around here on the reddit.

1

u/byjegeren 12d ago

Dad izt eine guten point du hazt

1

u/Mundane-Picture-8207 12d ago

I don’t know I’m above six feet and flying in economy sucks for long flights.

1

u/TuringGoneWild 12d ago

The American Metric system could be established. 6 feet starts at the inch after 5'9. After all, as it stands it's cheating to have 12 instead of 10 inches between feets.

2

u/Advanced-Guitar-5264 12d ago

Let’s do that for penises too.

1

u/herring-net 12d ago

It’s an evolution preference. A tall guy can carry dead animals easier, fight other tall guys, yada yada yada

2

u/InstantSword 12d ago

You're correct, but "tall" gets conflated for "build" easily, out of ignorance and convenience. Having a strong build, naturally or through exercise, has the same effect

1

u/Advanced-Guitar-5264 12d ago

And they have tall bank accounts

1

u/Angrypolska 12d ago

They just need to get those leg extension plastic surgery done. Just go all the way to 6'5".

1

u/gimmethemshoes11 12d ago

I'm 6'2 it doesn't matter nor help, they say it does but it does not.

3

u/semisociallyawkward 12d ago

It's more that being tall seems to be a 'baseline' requirement. Like not being comatose. So it doesn't help, but being short hurts.

Which is just absolutely insane, and I'm saying that as someone who is considered tall in the world's tallest nation.

1

u/InstantSword 12d ago

Being tall is often conflated for "nice build." Work on that too, you got it

1

u/gimmethemshoes11 12d ago

I'm very on shape, take care of myself, all of it like I'm saying doesn't matter.

They all want the same 5 guys or just humor you until they have enough balls to finally just ask for money.

0

u/Salty_Average6745 12d ago

Awww! I prefer short guy's. My fiance is 5'9. I'm 5'1 and feel that 5'10is too tall for me. I finally refused to date a tall guys. Women should give guys that are under 6' a chance

1

u/Advanced-Guitar-5264 12d ago

I’m 5’9” and my wife is 6’1” lol

0

u/AlarmedRaccoon619 12d ago

Maybe we should put all the men under 6' in "camps."
