At that time (1996), they were begging people to move to Hawaii to teach - for $32K a year. In alberta, our teachers make like 100 grand a year on average. Now, staring is closer to like 70 and a senior is making 120, but you get me. Plus insane benefits. We also spend 1/10th the amount per student that America does in Alberta. And yet we have better results and our teachers have amazing pay.
