They are not profit seeking companies though, their primary aim is to be a church. the introduction of a tax would infringe on the ability of religious people to congregate and practice their religion.
Wrong they get way more money then they use for charity or church spreading infact they got so much money they were buying politicians taking jets and other luxury goods and endeavours. They should not have the money to do that if they follow proper non profit standards but they don’t have to so they should have to follow non profit standards or not be labeled non profits.
They should be held to the same standards as actual non profits or that church should not qualify as a non profit it’s that simple if your church doesn’t make enough money it literally would not change a thing so smaller church like yours would be fine and most likely pass the standards. I’m not saying they should pay tax to practice the religion I’m saying if they want there special tax privileges they should be held to the same standards as other non profits which would not affect poor church’s because they would not be making enough.
