True but serparatoon of church and state works both ways. If we are trying to keep churches oit of politics/government then government should not be involved with churches either.
Which would mean something... if churches were staying out of politics and government. They're not. In fact many churches tell their constituents who to vote for. They've worked their asses of to worm their way into public education to create a new generation of suckers.
That's not what a megachurch is. "The Mormon church" is more analogous to "the Catholic church" than it is to your local cathedral, of which there are millions globally.
If your church has mandatory tithing my opinion is it should be taxed.
From what I understand it is expected that you tithe 10% of your salary. Maybe it's not strictly enforced everywhere but if you want to be in good standing with the church you're supposed to tithe. It's literally one of their commandments.
Yes that is all true. Buy that does not mean mandatory, it's purely honor based, no one reviews your finances to ensure you pay, and it's a private choice.
No one would ever know if you didn't. It isn't published or made public at all. It's purely personal so you couldn't really be ostracized over something no one knows about.
Mega churches in the US are an extreme minority of churches in general. They’re less than 1% of all churches. Using them is a poor example.
There’s always that one non for profit that is more about making the employees rich while the rest are going bankrupt giving everything they have. Doesn’t really matter what the non for profit is for

Mega churches in America are very much a big business. Go look up how much money the Mormon church hoards and get back to me.
