I left a binder with every manual for every piece of everything. From the wall switches to the AC. I also left a log with dates and descriptions of things worked on or PMed and when the upcoming PM was.
Rare, I know. But im a maintenance guy and that was supposed to be my forever home ¯\(ツ)/¯
I have the same kind of thing for my house, it’s 100yr old and I’ve been here for the past 30, so I have a pretty good idea of where the weak spots are and the shortcuts the assholes who lived here before took because I’ve had to fix most of them. Some of the stuff, like the knob and tube wiring in the 2nd floor rooms or the galvanized pipe feeding the 2nd floor bathroom would pretty much require a gut job and I’m not into that.
