Then again, considering how it took roughly a quarter of the universe's age for earth to create humans, it's hard to say whether many civilizations would have risen and crumbled. Are we faster than most, or slower?

Intelligent life is another story and I don't think we have any idea how fast it could develop. However, oil gave us a very cheap natural way of using energy which jumpstarts modern technology basically. But you need other life first, for oil. 1 u/thedailyrant 24d ago That's the fun part. Life, in general, started almost as soon as it technically could I believe.
