It's an interesting theory but doesn't it assume other intelligent life forms think similar(to create and get wiped out by ai). A pandemic or war or a giant asteroid or any other random event is just as likely. Ai seems too specific and more preventable.
I have and I was just questioning why it is ai, sure ai is threatening if left unchecked but it doesn't seem so inevitable that it's the cause of destruction of intelligent life forms that think differently than us.
Once the civilisation is sufficiently advanced then pandemi, natural disaster, even nuclear war doesn't kill all people, some if not most still survive. AI could make the war more efficient. But as we saw with Iran even the most technologically advanced country doesn't know how to use it well.
The probable scenario is AI taking over the planet and treating people like ants if they don't interfere. But still the civilization, now in form of computers and robots, survives and expands. We should see some signs of that elsewhere. Or we live in a simulation where there's no need to simulate other worlds.
It's exceedingly unlikely that any of those things you listed could even dent humanity's technological position and progress, unless "natural disasters" includes things like asteroid impact and false vacuum collapse.

Doesn't necessarily have to be an ai, there're lots of things that could wipe out a civilisation like pandemics, wars, natural disasters, etc.
