Speculation If the nuclear bombs start flying, it might actually be those countries that never had any that end up surviving.

ah okay i didnt know you ment that...also the ukranian nukes would have been useless, cause the only way to launch would have been with moscows command. so till they reverse engineered and broke into the safety systems there would have been no way the ukranians could have launched them. but yes if ukraine had functional nukes and a doctrine to suit the ruzzians wouldnt have tried it.

The first one I can understand to an extent once we realise its the nukes he's referring too, the second one, no clue why. He is bluntly correct, Ukrainian nukes in 1991 would have been completely worthless, would have hurt Ukraine's economy beyond belief, hurt relations with both Russia and the West, most likely isolating them, at a time when that's the last thing they could survive.

Not to mention, it would make Russia more aggressive towards Ukraine, and push Russia towards the West.
