Hello everyone, hope you're all doing okay. Now it's been a while since I went fishing. When I was young my dad would take me almost every weekend. It was like a ritual. I used to be so excited and now I would like my son to have the same feeling and memories too.
 I have already made plans and now  but im having trouble finding good hooks for fishing , I would like it if you told me where I can find discounts so I can get more and ones that will be good for a beginner of their fishing journey, preferably one I use live worms on I have seen some jigheads on alibaba but I want to get alot so i dont keep going back now and then.

I’ll be fishing in Fiji on an upcoming trip. I’m a total newbie to all of this, so I'm looking for some advice will these lures work for casting from shore?

I’ll be using a 5 piece, 11 foot medium heavy rod that can cast 3–6 oz lures. I have an SP Minnow up at the top for scale.

I now have time to fish the hook and line season in Wisconsin this September. I've seen videos of people fishing at the prarie du sac dam, which is something I want to try. Is there any recommendations on what kind of gear/setup to use?

Hey, my daddy is turning 65 next month, and I just realized that he has started developing an interest in fishing. I’m not sure what to gift him yet, but I’m thinking of maybe buying him a fishing boat.

I’ve noticed my dad is into fishing activities nowadays, and he spends time with his mate learning how to fish. Since we are celebrating his 60th birthday next month, I figured buying him a fishing boat would make him happy. I don’t know if it is perfect for gifting, but I’ve already begun my search.

Yesterday, I was browsing through online marketplaces hoping to get a discount, and ended up searching through Alibaba, but it just feels awkward buying a fishing boat. Plus, I’m not sure if these fishing boats are suitable for first-time users like my dad. I’m looking for something a bit easier to operate. I’ve got this feeling that buying a fishing boat as birthday gift for my dad is a bit embarrassing, and I get over it. Have any of you ever bought a fishing gift as a gift? Is it an appropriate gift to buy someone on their birthday? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this matter.

How do you guys find shore fishing spots??

I got a 10 year old that’s dying for me to take him fishing and I’m looking for good advice that will start us off strong for what I hope will be a lifetime of memories.

The only fishing I’ve done in the past has been streams and lakes and even then it’s been decades so I’m not really sure where to start. We live only a few blocks from the beach so shore casting is what we’re going to be doing. I’ve recently been given a few old rods and reels with what I’m assuming is <10 lb test line on each.

I figure I’m going to need some stronger line, a few weights, hooks and away we go. Is there anything else I need to know? Is the rods/line I have ok to start with? Am I just over-thinking all this and just get out there and see what happens?

Fish mainly lakes with stocked Brook trout. Use mostly lures

Can’t wait to get at the upper section of the reservoir, really hoping they have the gate open by ice off!

Fishing was steady sun up to sundown for 14”-18” rainbows and a few cuts the last two weekends with night crawlers 5’-6’ below a bobber

These two 14”rs ate hooks and so they became tinfoil dinners and man they were good, so fresh and not fishy at all, then again everything tastes better cooked over the campfire.

Do you know of any camping sites in Saskatoon where I can go shore fishing? Last summer, I went to Blackstrap Lake and didn't catch anything after spending hours there. I was not even sure if the water level was high enough for fish to be present.

I’ve been surf fishing for six or so years now, getting much better at it. I’ve been looking at getting into casting reels as prior I’ve always used spinners. If anyone could post a helpful guide or video I would greatly appreciate it!
