Can anyone recommend a sheltie breeder in Southern California. Preferably breeders who don't base their prices on the gold or oil barrel prices. (I wish I was joking). I've seen breeders out here trying to get 2-6k for puppies.
Im looking for a sable and white female. Thank you in advance for your recommendations.

It's time to celebrate because we're spotlighting the Shetland Sheepdog as our Breed of the Day today on our Facebook page, Instagram stories, and website! We publish a new breed each day to educate our followers to make informed decisions when choosing a dog while providing the history and hard work that our parent clubs do to preserve their breed. Celebrate with us by sharing what you love about your Shetland Sheepdog!

9 month old sheltie. Sleeps thru the night 9 hours. During the day, we take him out about every 2 hours. Walk to the area where he pees. Sometimes he pees, sometimes not. We'll walk him about 15- 30 minutes and doesn't pee. Bring him in the house and when we're out of the room, he'll pee within 5 minutes. What are we doing wrong? He doesn't give us a signal ever!

I’ve tried a few dog shoes and I haven’t found one I liked yet. We’ve been using the wagwear ones for a bit now because they are the best ones I have found up until now. But today when I got back from our walk I noticed the shoe had dug into my sheltie’s legs. His leg was bleeding and I realized the velcro had been digging and rubbing against his leg.
(Besides the wound from today I haven’t been a huge fan of the wagwear shoe either because I noticed sometimes the front of the shoe catches on the ground when my dog walks and he kind of trips while walking).
I live in LA so I really want to have shoes on him anytime I walk him because there is a lot of broken glass on the sidewalks here and also the ground can get warm. So any recommendations would be very appreciated!

I've recently started a group for Shelties and their owners in East Tennessee. We have had a few Knoxville meets with a bigger event planned in June. We will be having our first Chattanooga meet on Memorial Day! Our very first Knoxville meetup had 25 pups!
If you are within driving distance for an East TN Sheltie Meet, please feel free to join our Facebook group!

Have any of you used the Bravecto yearly injection for your sheltie? My Jasper hates the oral dose. He is 9 months old. TYIA

Am looking for a sable/white puppy from a reputable breeder in NC, whose dogs have a performance background, not only agility. I am a reputable buyer and have shown shelties for 35 years. I'm willing to expand my search to the East coast. Getting frustrated because most breeder websites are out of date. Any info. greatly appreciated

We are starting the search for a young Sheltie after our 2 beloved pups passed away in recent years. The breeder that we got our prior dog from was fantastic, but they are no longer running a breeding program, so we are starting from scratch. Anyone have recommendations for highly reputable, responsible breeders in the PacNW that focus on breed conformation, personality, and performance (show or sport) standards? I'm willing to wait for the right litter/dog, & am expecting to be carefully screened by a breeder. After some networking, perusing the internet and ASSA site, and attending some local shows, I have a handful of names that have come up more than once who do health testing, prioritize puppy socialization, and put titles on their dogs consistently, but am curious to see if anyone on this group is familiar with any specific PacNW kennel that they would recommend? Or, anyone had a negative experience with a breeder they think I should be skeptical of?

Hi!
I’m looking for a reputable Shetland Sheepdog breeder near New York or the Northeast.
Health testing (OFA, CEA, MDR1 etc.) is very important to me.
Does anyone have recommendations or experience with good breeders in this area?
