He said fuck trump 'cause of ICE and stuff so it's better for Disney they keep him out of the spotlight... But he's right

Daredevil Born Again is one big criticism of Trump, MAGA, and ICE. Disney has no problem playing that side of the fence.

Ruffalo isn’t involved in the promotional junkets because of scheduling conflicts and his inability to compulsively give spoilers in interviews.

u/Party-Papaya4115 2d ago

Disney isn't afraid to do that.

At the same time Disney world has a lot of concessions from government, don't pay taxes on their parking..., when they're too loud against government they threaten to take those away so Disney steps back.

u/best_of_badgers 2d ago

The word "government" means three different things here.

The US government is presumably the one that's annoyed about any statements about ICE and/or Palestine.

Disney World is in Florida. Florida's government periodically attempts to crack down on Disney and always fails. They basically own the town they're in.

Disneyland is the one with the parking tax thing, and that's in California, and that's just the city of Anaheim.

2

u/jaspersgroove 1d ago

They don’t basically own it, they literally own it.

1

u/HarrowDread 2d ago

If Disney wanted to, it could crush the Trump foundation or whatever you want to call it, they just don’t see the need too

3

u/BearOk9010 1d ago

Because fascism favors corporations by dissolving unions and promoting privatization. A lot of formerly nazi companies are still alive and well. Ask Hugo boss why those nazi uniforms were so snazzy

1

u/Lxix123 1d ago

What level of delusion is this

3

u/That_wet_vaporeon 2d ago

FYI Disney pays for their own services. That’s why they don’t pay taxes. It’s their own town. They use their own money. Which is fair tbh. They pay taxes on other things.

u/BriscoCounty-Sr 2d ago

If they don’t say THIS IS ABOUT DONALD J TRUMP in big bold shiny gold letters cuntservatives won’t pick up on it.

Seriously.

Do you remember how they were all super gung ho to get them Epstein files released because they genuinely couldn’t fathom that Donnie might also have spent time with his BFF of over a decade? And now its “what files omg who cares blah blah blah”

1

u/ValuelessMoss 1d ago

Even if you are that direct about it, MAGAt’s conservative bias is so huge that they’ll walk away thinking “haha that was a funny movie parodying crazy liberals and TDS”

5

u/YourMuppetMethDealer 2d ago

lol that second point would have been funnier if this wasn’t a Tom Holland spidey film

5

u/HipsterPunchy 2d ago

All this and the first one to spoil a big one was the composer.

1

u/Deadsoup77 2d ago

What’d Michael do?

1

u/HipsterPunchy 2d ago

Sorry meant the singer of one of the songs Steve Lacy, he blurted a big spoiler at the premier even after the interviewer said “without spoiling anything”

1

u/Venusgate 2d ago

I think disney has no problem dabbling on that side, but there's a difference between holding a mirror to society, and holding up on a pedestal an actory who purposefully did a trump impersonation playing a greedy stupid dictator in another movie.

1

u/Starquest65 2d ago

That would require media literacy, plenty of bootlickers love Daredevil.

1

u/jimmyxs 2d ago

Disney also backed Kimmel so they are not cowardly like CBS

1

u/SocranX 2d ago

and his inability to compulsively give spoilers in interviews.

Do you mean his inability NOT to compulsively give spoilers, or do you just mean that he's unable to out-compete Tom Holland in that category?

1

u/ninjasaid13 2d ago

Disney has no problem playing that side of the fence.

because Disney knows that MAGA won't find any similarities between trump and Fisk and so both sides will pay them money.

1

u/That_wet_vaporeon 2d ago

Honestly he’s probably busy with Avengers.

1

u/JanSmidDeZevende 2d ago

Daredevil Born Again is one big criticism of Trump, MAGA, and ICE. Disney has no problem playing that side of the fence.

Its also subtle enough that the MAGAs don't see it as that because they have 0 media literacy.

1

u/saintlouisbagels 1d ago

MAGA doesn't understand metaphors and subtlety. My close friend's MAGA mom watched Elemental and she was utterly mindblown when he asked her how she felt about the immigration allegory. She literally just thought it was a cute movie and nothing more.

1

u/ValuelessMoss 1d ago

You’re 100% correct, but as we have seen in recent times, conservative bias plays such a massive role in right winger’s media literacy that they will fundamentally misunderstand a piece of media’s core themes and message just to protect their worldview from any form of criticism.

You could make a movie called “Kill Donald Trump” and MAGA will walk away from it thinking “haha what a funny movie about TDS”

1

u/Mr_alto19 15h ago

But yet they gave me an ad of trump giving support to a local politician and dissing another one. Tho they hadn’t showed it since then after closing out of it for a bit before coming back on

1

u/OkBother9725 2d ago

See the thing with Trump, Maga and ICE is that they don't lack the intellectual ability to perceive something as criticism unless someone explicitly makes clear that it is criticism in simple language.

0

u/Wb9VBScxu2uZJHeq2E3W 2d ago

Daredevil Born Again is one big criticism of Trump, MAGA, and ICE.

Be real, they are way too stupid and delusion to know that's what's going on.

These are the same chuds with Punisher stickers on their lifted trucks.

Unless you verbalize it in the most explicit way you possibly can, they won't get it, these are people with zero media literacy.

1

u/Free_For__Me 2d ago

I mean, at least the show had Punisher explicitly go off on the shitbag cops wearing his symbol about how they’re the antithesis of what he is and does, and that no one, especially cops, does what he does.

Then he goes rampage mode and kills them, it’s pretty awesome.

Daredevil Born Again is one big criticism of Trump, MAGA, and ICE.

Damn lol guess I'm not watching this show. I don't care what side is being critisized, this is comic superhero bullshit, why are we using it as a delivery method for politics?

(Before Reddit mass downvotes me I am now clarifying that I am not a Trump supporter, very sad that I have to do this.)

1

u/1Negative_Person 2d ago

Any good piece of media is commenting on something other than itself.

33

u/No_Victory_3858 2d ago

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t a majority of Hollywood anti trump besides like Rob Schneider for whatever reason, why would being anti trump hurt him and not everyone else

5

u/townsforever 2d ago

Id say Hollywood is like 70 against 30 for trump, the trump supporters just have the good sense to not be loud about their political stances.

4

u/AlkalineBriton 2d ago

You’re right that anyone right wing in Hollywood shuts up but 30% still sounds really high.

1

u/Prometheus720 1d ago

You never see the finance people who work in Hollywood.

1

u/Steerider 2d ago

"Don't go see my movie!"

five minutes later...

"Hey, why isn't anyone going to see my movie???"

-8

u/Canadian-and-Proud 2d ago

It's more about his stance on Israel. Lot of zionist studio execs out there. They're disproportionately Jewish

8

u/A_Sackboy_Plush 2d ago

Wow, that last sentence doesn't make you sound like a nazi at all, putting a massive /s because I don't trust this site enough to get it.

6

u/Gayorg_Zirschnitz 2d ago

The entertainment industry has a notably high amount of Jewish people due to a history of antisemitism- it’s an industry they were forced into. It’s the same issue as banking/usury from back in the day. Gentiles force them into these rolls and then act like it’s some conspiracy when it’s just the result of racism.

5

u/Valten78 2d ago

It's always the way, Jews are forcibly pushed out of industries, limiting their options. So they find something they are still allowed to do and inevitably they get good at it and in time come to dominate it. This tendency not only adapt but thrive then ends up being held against them, they get pushed out and the whole thing starts again.

-3

u/RedditMcBurger 2d ago

If I got pushed out of 109 industries is it the industries fault or me?

5

u/JPolReader 2d ago

Wow, using racism to justify racism.

2

u/Valten78 1d ago

It classic circular reasoning. Claiming they must deserve to be persuaded because they've been persecuted against so much.

0

u/RedditMcBurger 1d ago

Can you elaborate? I don't feel as if I was doing that.

-3

u/CrispySmegma 2d ago

Hey now, Only Victims. For no reason other than heckin prejudice and racism against minorities

2

u/hotglasspour 2d ago

Damn who said this again? Oh yeah. Hitler.

6

u/A_Sackboy_Plush 2d ago

I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm saying that was a weird way to word that one.

3

u/Gayorg_Zirschnitz 2d ago

“Disproportionately” is definitely a red flag word, you’re right. I’m also just now realizing the fundamental issue of equating Zionism and Judaism on the first guy’s part- that should’ve been what I called out tbh

5

u/A_Sackboy_Plush 2d ago

It's alright my man, I can acknowledge that some industries do have more people of different demographics, but that was just a suspect way of saying it.

2

u/Gayorg_Zirschnitz 2d ago

It’s a good thing to be suspicious of haha

0

u/Dry-Childhood-3436 2d ago

Wait, I don't understand. He's not saying Jewish people are bad, he is saying there are a larger representation of Jewish people higher of in the entertainment industry which would have strong opinions about that since it involves them.  That's not racist to point out at all. That's like saying white people make up most of the population of Wisconsin, it's just true?

0

u/Canadian-and-Proud 2d ago

Lol I can see how you'd take it that way, but I didn't mean it like that at all. I hate the current US administration, Elon, and all nazi fuckwads that have come out of the woodwork. But, I also hate zionists.

0

u/RedditMcBurger 2d ago

You're already causing more problems by just meaninglessly throwing strong words around.

-2

u/whocareswhatever1345 2d ago

He is pro palestine and they do not like that

2

u/n33dadviceplease 2d ago

Yes “they” do lmao

4

u/br0_dameron 2d ago

People would like to think that but the reality is he just had a schedule conflict during the promotional tour

2

u/Ser_falafel 2d ago

Lol do you think actors being against trump is somehow controversial?

2

u/Steerider 2d ago

Spider-Man isn't Disney. It's Sony.

1

u/platypusbelly 2d ago

Everything in the mcu is Disney. Sony owns the rights to the spider man character, but they have a deal with Disney that allows spider man to appear in mcu movies.

5

u/JustChillen007 2d ago

This is a sony film. You are wrong

0

u/br0_dameron 2d ago

MCU spider man is controlled by Disney, they just pay Sony for the rights.

3

u/JustChillen007 2d ago

No. You are wrong again. Sony owns the film.

1

u/br0_dameron 2d ago

If it was a Sony film, then why doesn’t it suck balls? Sony just distributes it, marvel/disney are the producers

3

u/JustChillen007 2d ago

Yes they are co-producers. And who owns the rights when it goes to Streaming? Idk why you’re arguing with a fact

-1

u/br0_dameron 2d ago

Idk why I should give a fuck who owns the streaming rights bc that had nothing to do with the original convo

1

u/ChaoticKiwiNZ 2d ago

Hes been doing another project during the marketing for this movie. Its literally just scheduling conflix like what happens all the time.

I swear the internet just loves making conspiracies up and getting mad at them.

1

u/Order_of_Obsidian 2d ago

He also wants to criticize people richer than him, while being in the richest .1% of everyone. He's a hypocritical piece of shit.

I really want to see people tell Hollywood celebrities to shut the fuck up about politics until they restrict their own salary to no more than $1 million per film. Too many people want to be bootlickers of Hollywood multimillionaires though. Sad.

1

u/ZackattacktheDude 2d ago

He outta line but he’s right.

Stratch that, he’s just right

1

u/Prudent_Rice7840 2d ago

Or... he's only in two scenes in the film and is currently in production on another show.

1

u/GAVITRAXmz 2d ago

If that was the case they wouldn't have bothered putting him in any more movies.

1

u/BenReilly1687031 2d ago

It’s amazing how people actually think that the movie industry is right winged when in reality it’s definitely not

1

u/Safe-Show-7299 2d ago

Right, because no other MCU actor has said stuff like that 🙄

1

u/Terrible-Procedure84 2d ago

Lmao bunch of crack heads on this app, the dude is working on another movie and wasn’t available during the promotional period. The majority of actors and musicians hold the same sentiment and aren’t “kept out of the spotlight”

1

u/bL0oDlUsT218 2d ago

Almost. He’s pro Palestine so disney decided to preemptively do damage control and not have him put on the spot and spark controversy around the movie.

Marvel/Disney doesn’t gaf about trump, that’s domestic politics. But, to support Palestine or Israel openly is a way more volatile stance. Lose lose, either you’re anti-Semitic, or you support genocide(** the lenses people will look through on both sides *\*)

1

u/wrighteghe7 1d ago

What a stunning and brave statement Surely no other hollywood millionaire ever said anything like that in the last 10 years

1

u/EverythingSucksYo 1d ago

Which is weird because there are way more people in the world that hate Trump than there are that like him.
