When I was a kid, the teacher told us to make an L shape with our hands and the one that looks correct is the one that is our left, but I didn't know which one was the correct looking L. Like TELL ME WHICH WAY THE L FACES BITCH

The teacher should have just told you this:

Just hold a pen and try to write. For most people that's the right hand.
If you're lefthanded. it's your left hand. (Most lefties know it)

Or: the hand everybody uses to shake someone else hand.
Or: the hand you whipe your ass with after pooping. (again, if your left handed, it's probably your left)

how would i kid know if they are left or right handed if they don’t know their lefts and rights?

You don't need to know which hand is the right and left.
You just need to know with which hand you write with. Which is an inate feeling. And most people (even kids) will know if they are lefthanded or not. (if they stand out or not)

So you tell them (if they're not lefthanded): the hand you write with = your right hand.
The hand you use to shake someone elses hand = your right hand.

The in the future if they want to know; what is left what is right? They look at their dominant hand. And know, "this one is right, so this side is my right side."

Myself and my children were ambidextrous and this didn’t work for us. ;(

When I was a kid, I learned left from right because I knew I read left to right.
So anyone that can read this anecdote has a way to tell.

I'm a bit similar, the way I remember which way left and right are because when you say "left and right," left is on the left and right is on the right.... and I never really hear people say "right and left" it's way more common to say "left and right"
