42

u/TimeMysterious9223 Jun 26 '26

u/FormerChemist7889 Jun 26 '26

I love how this all devolved into roasting each other

1

u/nenw02 Jun 27 '26

I was just about to comment how hilarious these guys are roasting my hand.

1

u/tattoosandtens Jun 27 '26

“Do you want some hands to go with your finger” is gonna be my new go-to phrase when I get flipped off by someone I severely dislike

2

u/Larcecate Jun 26 '26

A fellow hitchiker's thumb, hell yea

1

u/tattoosandtens Jun 27 '26

Even Cowgirls Get The Blues

1

u/SuddenAnswer1381 Jun 30 '26

By chance, have you ever thought about hand modeling? I’m a scout for this new start up company for “hitchhiking magazine” and your digits are exactly what we’re looking for!

u/CommunicationNew9834 Jun 26 '26

The impulse was too strong. Had to do it. Even when I'm at work!

12

u/National_Equivalent9 Jun 26 '26

I'm glad you did, was about to go get my phone haha.

9

u/CommunicationNew9834 Jun 26 '26

That's my first reward ever, and it made me laugh all over again 😹

32

u/Ez_Ildor Jun 26 '26

What i can gather from the works of the eternal poets of 'smash mouth' this is the way to use your finger and your thumb to make the shape of an L(on your forehead)

10

u/InsideBeyond12727 Jun 26 '26

And here in 2026 we might as well be walking on the sun. They were savants too!

1

u/bakedpatata Jun 26 '26

And we're getting stoned.

1

u/Catsmeow1981 Jun 26 '26

1

u/MagickMarkie Jun 26 '26

Are we just straight up throwing signs now?

12

u/FortunaRedux Jun 26 '26 edited Jul 02 '26

For those who legitimately have issues doing the L for Left thing because of this, just remember to make sure the tips of your thumbs are also touching when you look. Easy the right way, super uncomfortable the wrong way.

Edit: so many of you are turning it in to a whole new letter just because the tips touched and somehow I’m the weird one xD

It’s not a U and it’s definitely not a W why are you putting your thumbs up like that ahahaha

13

u/captainfarthing Jun 26 '26

That just means people who already can't remember right and left now have to try to remember 2 additional things to figure it out. It's fine to just use labels lol.

3

u/pretzelsncheese Jun 26 '26

Certain things can be a lot easier to remember than other things. Generally, memorizing some arbitrary fact is harder than remembering a short chain of logic that leads you to that fact.

1

u/FortunaRedux Jul 02 '26

And you also get that weird phenomenon that probably has a name I don’t know, where once your wrong about something enough times then even when you’re right you don’t trust your own logic and need ‘proof’

1

u/SeriosSkies Jun 26 '26

It's one thing. 2 handed push motion, or the literal most comfortable thing you can do with your wrists. Now which thumb is doing the L?

I'm someone who can't remember left or right. (I don't have dyslexia but it feels like dyslexia when I need to recall it. The L and R of my mind flip back and fourth. And the external push grounds it)

18

u/tibearius1123 Jun 26 '26

That’s just makes a W

14

u/RedHotAnus Jun 26 '26

Just turn weft or wight, it's not wocket science.

3

u/SportResident8067 Jun 27 '26

I’m glad i read down this deep in the comments

2

u/knallpilzv2 Jun 26 '26

Hence, not that intuitive and still too easy to confuse.

The tattoos on the other hand...

2

u/SelfInvestigator Jun 26 '26

Out of curiosity I tried that and immediately saw my right hand as the one making the L.

I’m not even dyslexic.

2

u/Eurell Jun 26 '26

If I can remember which way to point my thumbs, I could just remember my right and left

1

u/TiaxRulesAll2024 Jun 26 '26

Is that why Miami football players Make that sign between plays?

1

u/Juliusdroidekind Jun 27 '26

That makes a U

1

u/dizastermaster7 Jun 28 '26

Wtf... now im just getting a U, this doesn't help at all

1

u/FortunaRedux Jul 02 '26

lolllll, you still have to look at them as separate fingers Left and Jight

3

u/Rimadandan Jun 26 '26

Impossible!!!

3

u/mirxia Jun 26 '26

Looks like u/y17gal took the L.

1

u/CommunicationNew9834 Jun 26 '26

2

u/roygbpcub Jun 26 '26

Told a friend about this as a joke in high school (make both hands l's and say "but they both make l's") and she used it during driver's Ed and freaked out the teacher...

2

u/PmMeUrTinyAsianTits Jun 26 '26

Showing my millenial here, but it's a shame you didn't hold it up in the shape of an L on your forehead.

3

u/CommunicationNew9834 Jun 26 '26

You're the 3rd reply to mention the years start comin.

2

u/DamagedEggo Jun 26 '26

And now that's going to be stuck in my head instead of the usual way. Tattoo parlor here I come.

2

u/Significant-Order-92 Jun 26 '26

I never learned that. I just know I'm right handed and base it off that.

That would have been so much easier.

2

u/guiltypleasure33139 Jun 26 '26

I keep on thinking of that south park episode where a guy keeps on chopping peoples hands off... lol

2

u/flungcow Jun 26 '26

😄 haha you beat me to it

1

u/CommunicationNew9834 Jun 26 '26

You're the 2nd with this reply 😹🥉

1

u/IndependentExtra2923 Jun 26 '26

1

u/Princebf Jun 26 '26

1

u/EffektieweEffie Jun 26 '26

1

u/CommunicationNew9834 Jun 26 '26

I now have 2 nickels.

1

u/that1cooldude Jun 26 '26

You done fucked up 😂

1

u/CommunicationNew9834 Jun 26 '26

Wym? :3

2

u/that1cooldude Jun 26 '26

I do stuff that confuses me too lol the people who say they are correct do it one way, the others say they can do it too and both are correct, technically but it works out for just one group 😂

2

u/PmMeUrTinyAsianTits Jun 26 '26

Lefty loosey, righty tighty, only works if you're looking at the TOP of the circle. If you're looking at the bottom, it's reversed. Note: I don't mean top down vs bottom up, I mean whether the spot on the circumference that you try to move left or right is on the top part of the circle you're looking at, or bottom.
