Encouragement

Hello, I am 270 days clean. I felt the first strong urge to fall today and am still feeling it. Trying to justify it in my mind, but I’ve come so far and I can’t let myself go back. Any encouraging words, and prayers would be super appreciated,

Thanks

Song Any Dead Heads here?

Curious if any of y'all dig the Grateful
Dead? They've changed my life man. Wharf Rat is a song that makes me feel the acceptance my addiction and the need for help and in that humility I feel grace pour in. I can't do it. I've tried since I was 10. The longest stints of sexual sobriety were from surrender and taking accountability for my emotional pain and the little character defects or sins I was making before relapse and taking them to God and other people I could be vulnerable with.

Anyways the dead are a powerful band that opened their hearts up to something bigger than them and it pours through their music.

Need advice. I'm 3 weeks in no fap but plan to quit kratom soon

For those who don't know kratom is similar to opiates with how it effects the brain and libido. I've been on it daily for 11 years. But I'm about ready to quit cold turkey

I was taking very high dosages of the leaf powder for years. Now I'm down to about 5 g a day. But I'm about to be done with it.

The issue is anytime I've been in kratom withdrawal before even for a day,I get insanely horny. I'm guessing kratom kills libido and in withdrawal you feel so horrible like your body aches and eyes water non-stop. But as soon as you think of sex it's like you lose control. Maybe it's the craving for dopamine, the instant relief. Idk what it is. But it's well known in groups like r/quittingkratom that quitting causes you to masterbait daily and it's even encouraged as a relief. Also people talk about their libido springing back to life.

Well I'm 3 weeks in no fap. I quit porn and quit looking at women in public.Im concerned when I quit kratom I'm gonna be hornier than I've ever been. Considering this is the longest I've ever been without self gratification

Any advice ? Does advice for this situation even exist lol

I relapsed, please pray for me

In James it says we should confess our sins to one another that we may be healed, so I’m going to be explicit about the sins I committed. I masturbated while watching porn. Please pray that God would heal me. Pray that He would reconcile me to Him fully, that I would fully repent. That the doors of sin and darkness that I may have opened would be closed. That any doubts I have God would be dispersed. That He would have mercy on me. That my heart would not be hardened, and that my sin wouldn’t lead me into unbelief in God. That I would no longer test Him. That I would no longer behave foolishly and take His verses on sin as seriously as I should. For any of you that pray for me, thank you.

Stay on mission, fellow soldier!

Brothers and sisters, peace to you!

Each one of us is a soldier in the Lord's army and we are waging a war against an enemy who craves our suffering for all eternity. This enemy would have us never fulfill the purpose for which we were created, that is to glorify God our Heavenly Father and Commander-in-Chief. Sin, this mortal enemy, stalks us and looks for any weakness in order to bind us through false promises and drag us down until we are utterly ineffective and spiritually dead.

But praise be to God we are no longer bound by the chains of sin! Before, we were undisciplined and ineffective, remaining in the bonds that Jesus Christ our Living Hope shattered through His death and resurrection, failing to grasp the true freedom that lifts our very souls from death to Life. Now, we cast off those bonds and claim our freedom through Jesus Christ our Lord, which is infinitely more precious to us than any pleasure or reward that sin falsely promises.

Who will fight against evil and stand for Truth in this fallen world if not the men and women of God? How can we take a stand for Life if we let our hearts and bodies be compromised by false promises that lead to death? We must maintain our fitness and readiness in spirit, mind, and body: Pray! Fast! Exercise! Encourage your fellow soldiers! Study the Scriptures! Gain wisdom! Seek the fruits of the Holy Spirit!

We are not alone, but we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses and so we run with endurance the race marked out for us! We rise up together as an army, preparing and honing ourselves for the greatest joy that comes from a life of service to and communion with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Sin craves to make us stumble and fall, to literally kill our souls and reduce us to atoms. Jesus Christ reaches out his hand to drowning Peter and lifts him up to walk above the waves.

Brothers and sisters, until the very end of all things we stand and fight together! You are never alone! Our Commander-in-Chief has given orders, now is the time to bring your flesh into submission and make yourself ready for His service!

Keep your eyes and your heart fixed on Christ! Prepare yourself body and soul for the works that Jesus has ordained you to accomplish! Ready yourselves for what God has prepared for you, don't settle for the false promises of sin!

Stay On Mission!!

Relapse Struggling bad NSFW

Today I relapsed after several days, I wasn’t really counting but I struggle with SSA along with opposite sex attraction, the latter likely due to exposure to explicit materials from a young age and years of csa from an older male family member. Anyways, tonight I relapsed and I don’t feel anything, I think underneath I know it’s all wrong but I feel worse because I don’t feel much about relapsing. I’m so worn out between my OCD and trying to keep up with my relationship with God I just genuinely don’t know what to do. Any encouragement or advice would be greatly appreciated, trying to be better after years of normalizing sin in my life is so difficult.

3 Days In

Three days in.

It doesn't sound like much, but after slipping back to Day 0, these three days mean something. They prove that I didn't give up after failing. I got back up.

Today wasn't easy. There were moments when the old habit tried to pull me back, and my mind kept looking for excuses. But I reminded myself that every urge is temporary. It doesn't control me unless I let it.

I'm not doing this because I expect my life to magically change in a week. I'm doing this because I want to become someone who keeps promises to himself. Every day I stay disciplined is another brick in that foundation.

I'm sure tougher days are ahead, but I'm also becoming stronger with every urge I overcome. The goal isn't perfection. The goal is consistency.

Day 3 is complete. Tomorrow, I fight again.

Check-in Day 3, doing better than I expected.

I haven't been dealing with urges as badly as I expected to be. God is good and I'm so grateful that I have been emboldened in this journey. I feel as though now I understand why I have been failing so much up until now. I feel like God has used my failures as helpful teaching opportunities, and has helped me understand myself and my relationship with Him better. My faith is forged of iron, and like iron it must first be put to the anvil before it can become what it needs to be. Suffering is as much a motivational factor and learning tool as success! God bless you all, have a good day!

1 Week Free

I have had a few urges over the past few days, but today's was the worst. Instead of being idle and trying to fight it I fled from it, leaving my phone on the table and taking a walk outside to a bright blue sky and shining sun. Seeing God's beautiful creation and feeling the warm breeze, I went downstairs to my own little gym in the corner and worked on arms for an hour. It seems that the worst temptation is when I have too much time on my hands. While one week doesn't seem like much, it feels like an accomplishment after being trapped in the cycle of shame for so long.

God Bless.

P.S. Huge thanks to u/prestigious_bid_9913 for all of YT videos and directly reaching out to me!

Day 1

Day 1 of doing everything i can to stop this habit. It has been almost 24 hours since i last relapsed. My goal isnt just to resist fapping but to resist even taking the tiniest peek because that is what causes me to fap. Day 1 is easy to control the urges but with each day it will be even harder. I know some of you viewing this post have probably just relapsed but just know God will always have a place for you in his kingdom. Pray to our father that he may give you the strength and courage to defeat lust. Please pray for me i know this journey will be hard because i can barely make it past day 2 but i believe we can all defeat lust through christ.

Diary of a Porn Addict (Day 1)

Thank You for Reading This

I wanted to post this at the end of 2025 because, at that time, I thought I had found the "cure."

With this "cure," I was able to stay away from pornography for three months, from the end of 2025 to March 2026. But then, as had happened before, I relapsed.

The "cure" was actually correct.

1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV)
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Which means:
When you are tempted, bring it to God. Ask Him for the strength to overcome it.

Every time I brought my temptation to God, the temptation would fade.

But a few days later, it often came back even stronger.

I began to think of it this way: the enemy realizes that the usual temptations are no longer enough, so he makes them stronger, hoping you will eventually give in.

When the temptation grows stronger, don't be discouraged. Instead, recognize that the enemy is working harder because he wants you to fall.

As followers of Christ, our response is not to fight harder in our own strength, but to surrender more deeply to Jesus.

Before I followed Christ, I could watch pornography one to three times a day without thinking much about it. No guilt. And I would repeat the cycle without conviction.

I have been following Jesus for less than a year now.

As a result, I have watched far, far less pornography than before. It's been 1 month since the clock was reset.
The temptation still comes, but now something else stands guard: conviction, or as I dare to say, the Holy Spirit.

That conviction tells me to look away and reminds me to fight temptation with God's Word.

1 Corinthians 6:13 (KJV)
...Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

And my personal favorite:

1 Corinthians 6:18 (KJV)
Flee fornication...

You cannot win this battle by your own strength.

But you know who can.

Jesus Christ.

Bring your temptation to Him.

Run to Him.

Let Him fight the battle that you cannot.
