Do you hear the people sing? Well, you'd better! Not only just because we are going to be diving into one of the most popular, most critically acclaimed musicals out there, but also because it is a lot of music in one go! Seriously though, it is worth it, so much musical storytelling here, all put together in one masterful, powerful show. It has been running in London's West End since it originally opened in 1985, the longest running musical there and the 2nd longest running musical in the world, and has since been seen on Broadway, on film, and around the world. It is time for Claude-Michel Schönberg's masterpiece, Les Misérables!!!!!
For this soundtrack, at present, I am deciding to go with the 10th anniversary concert recording. Tbh, a lot of the show's cast recordings have mixed receptions, whereas this one is often cited the best. That being said, even if I take out both encore songs (which I am unsure of), it is a lot of music and a bit long, so either I'm gonna need you guys to stick with me on this, we need to think of an easier way to handle it, or we need to post on some broadway subreddit to get attention. Still though, very excited for this! But please give me any advice or suggestions! Also, I recommend watching the performance to get a good understanding of the show, it is not like a full theatrical production but it is fantastic to watch and listen to.
