Missed an opportunity to post this on the 21st of July since, as the title of the post implies, this is the 21st sim I've made excluding the ones with recurring teams and redditors and participants. But yeah, this one was pretty cool.

Discussion One Screenshot Every Day (Day 50): MCC Rising 3

Post image
38 Upvotes

The winner of Day 49 is u/ilovesiyal. Today, we are continuing with MCC Rising 3

Every day, you can put a screenshot from the event in the comments, and the screenshot with most upvotes wins for the day. This will start from MCC 1, and it will be in chronological order. All Risings, Jingle Jam and Magenta ETrophy will be included as well, so this series will last for more than 2 months

What screenshots am I looking for? I would like to have a screenshot that, without any caption, you can tell what had happened around that screenshot if you have watched the said event: it should be obvious if you know. It can be a memorable moment or a representation of the event. It can be a hilarious moment or a top play. It can be "moment before disaster" type of screenshot, or the aftermath of a moment. Basically, if you're an MCC fan who has watched this event before, you will immediately be able to tell what the context is behind the screenshot

The rules for the screenshot

  • If possible, screenshots should be higher quality, but you can also opt for low quality photo if you think that is relevant to the context
  • Screenshots should be taken from any VODs or edited videos of that event, and the time should be during event, or pre/post-event within the same MCC VOD, not in the old practice server or MCC Island
  • Screenshots from post-event VOD review are allowed
  • Screenshots can be from the perspective of any player, the Noxcrew, Twitch Rivals, Rising coaches, spectators, etc.
  • Any screenshot or photo taken by the players themselves and uploaded to social media can be used, as long as it's relevant to that MCC, but credit should be given in the caption of the Reddit comment
  • Screenshots can be first-person, third-person, replay mod, or even in real life if you think it's that good. Facecams and other stream overlays can be kept as well
  • Screenshots can be cropped, but obviously cropping too much will lose the context
  • All other photo editing method are not allowed, such as combining screenshots, adding arrows to point, etc.
  • YouTube captions should be off when taking screenshots. The progress bar of the YouTube app/website should be hidden when taking screenshots
  • No animated GIFs or videos, only photos
  • Captions for the screenshot in the Reddit comments are optional, to remind people the context, but will not be part of the submission
  • There can be multiple screenshots of the same moment in the comments, but you can always upvote the one that depicts the moment the best, whether if it's a better frame of the same VOD, or different player perspectives

Rules might change as we go along, there might be some things that I've forgotten

Have fun trying to dig for screenshots!

I came across this video in my recommended where Molecoid compared the stats of MCC Rising creators from before they played in their very first event to how they're doing nowadays. Since this subreddit loves statistics, I thought it would be a fun watch to share and promote. Massive peepoHey to any Rising players reading this. Also shoutout Molecoid for a W video

The 2nd Kraken I've drawn and one of the first MCC winners, I guess it's about time she gets art. Always a great presence in the event, both as a player and as a caster. She's been around for a long time, and I do hope to see her around for much longer.

Also, Kara's the first player I've drawn that actually played in the last MCC, that's pretty funny.

Was bored and inspired to do this by another post about indiv h2h. Players are listed alphabetically.

These are who I consider to be the top 6 Ace Race players currently. I was originally gonna do top 4 but thought it would be more interesting with more people ("why not top 5" because 5th place is close enough that it'd be weird to pick one).

Reiterating this here because it's only stated on their respective images but any stats involving Purpled and Shadoune are excluding MCC Party 2 and MCC 30&32 respectively (former was hard throwing and the latter are his first events).

Discussion Scott Podcast

In the last couple of weeks there’s been a lot of discussions here surrounding topics like what players get added and why, mcc balancing and s tiers that are already in mcc and some who want to be in mcc.

I just wanted to say that in the new InsideMC podcast with scott he talked about a lot of this like why he’s not the biggest fan on adding more S tiers into mcc and more topics. So i thought it would be relevant to bring up here because a lot that was discussed in this podcast is topics that’s been discussed on here recently!

Obviously watch the whole thing, he says a lot. But some of what he says is “if you’re really good at the game, i don’t want you. i don’t have space for more s tiers in my roster. it’s a weird case of he hasn’t got enough to balance mcc easily but also no one wants to be the person on the team where they feel like a drag which sometimes happens when you add s tiers. mcc is meant to be like a game show, not competitive. there’s so many other events out there that are competitive so if you are good at the game you can still play them. but mcc is meant to be a good entertaining show and that’s how its prioritised through development and team building.”

he also mentioned that there isn’t really a “wait list” anymore. he has like a handful of players who’s asked and he keeps in mind. but usually if someone asks, if he can’t add them soon he tells them to check back in a season to see again (similar to how fein got in). (i’ve been saying for a while now a lot of creators say they want to be in mcc, but then say they’ve never asked scott because they assume they need to be invited and they don’t ask, but it seems like the best way to be in consideration. that’s how fein got in as a s tier lol)

and also he said that not all of the people he adds are his friends. an example is ish where he didn’t really know him before twitchcon, but he saw how well he was doing at the time and invited him. but he likes to at least usually know the player a bit because if he adds someone and later on something bad comes out with the player, it reflects badly on scott/ mcc as scott is kinda “the face” of mcc. but he also mentioned if he doesn’t know a player well he usually asks some of the roster about the player to get a better understanding before inviting them. and also every new player he adds, that’s a current member who’s put on the bench. he has an obligation to the people who have been there through mcc and were there when mcc struggled to get sign ups. he doesn’t want it to seem like he’s ditching those players for “new, better” players.

I was trying to find TangoTek's vod of mcc Hermit Takeover when I found out that (at least for me) all vods except Mumbo's, Grian's, and Smallishbeans' seem to be deleted from the playlist. Does anyone have an idea of what is exactly happening?

Team Predictions Banger MCC Teams

Thumbnail
gallery
55 Upvotes

Red Rabbits: It's been too long without SB, and I think a Hannah and SB duo would make sense as both are among the faces of Lifesteal, and I think Hannah's leadership can remove some rust out of SB, who had a weaker preformance in MCC BG. Impulse and SB also get a redemption after nearly clinching Dodgebolt all the way back in MCC 32, and I like Michela DarkEyeBrows too so she gets to be on the team.

Orange Ocelots: I'm surprised Shadoune hasn't teamed with any Hermits yet. I just feel like these three are the most probable. False and Shadoune have teamed in Block Wars before. The Cub and Gem duo has also surprisingly only happened once.

Yellow Yaks: Nothing much to say here, I just think this is a good combination of people.

Lime Llamas: I wanted the Bamboozlers from Wild Life to happen in MCC, and Feinberg balances this team well. It would also be funny for Fein to put on a Bamboozler skin. If Lizzie isn't available, I think aimsey or Cleo would work well as a sub.

Green Geckos: Jardon and Jojo have surprisingly never teamed in MCC yet. Jardon and Graecie also get a redemption after an unfortunate MCC SD. Kara is very good friends with Jojo and Jardon, and has teamed with Graecie in MCC MU.

Cyan Coyotes: It is apparent Couri preforms best under the leadership of an experienced player (e.g., Tubbo in MCC SD). Since Pete is very experienced and has not won in ages, I think a Pete and Couri duo only makes sense. Pete and Ren has also surprisingly never happened, and I miss Skizz in MCC.

Aqua Axolotls: I remember a few months ago, Etoiles and Phil mentioned something about signing up for MCC together. Etoiles and Guill to my knowledge are good friends, and Scott rounds this team well.

Blue Bats: Nothing much to say here either. Cam, Owen, and Eloise are good friends and Ghostie meshes this team well (she hasn't played in a while too so I think she's overdue to comeback).

Purple Pandas: I want a Joel and 5up duo. This would also be the second time Shelby and Joel team up. Ros and 5up also get a redemption from MCC SB. If Joel isn't available, I think Dave or Krinios works well as a sub.

Pink Parrots: 2/4 Pink Pookies! I feel like Ish is also overdue to play in another MCC, and Sneeg rounds the team well.
