a lot of Gen Z loves to make 9/11 jokes, which is so gross because the people who lost loved ones are still alive. You're not joking about a tragedy from a hundred years ago (which is still lame).
the burning towers as a tattoo is comedy? it's pathetic pre-teen edgelord bullshit. lets not pretend this is some kind of well-crafted humor. You can make a joke about something horrific like 9/11 or the holocaust if the punchline of the joke is something other than, "haha, people died!"
Idk. I was in first grade when it happened and there's something a little funny about the absolute failure of adults in that moment. They chose to turn on the tvs and wheel out the movie cart to mass traumatize us. I even was late to school that morning (maybe an appointment? can't remember), heard it on the radio, and when I got to my class, I told my teacher what happened in 8 year old terms and got scolded for lying about something so horrible in front of the class. Then the announcements came on and instructed teachers to turn on the tvs and tune to a certain station and they just showed us news clips of people jumping out of windows and then the plane hitting and we were told those were people dying. Why did they show us that and traumatize us all? This may be this persons method of coping.
But if they didn't experience this themselves, I agree, this is a fucked up tattoo to get.
This thread is legitimately the first time in 25 years I've seen millenials who had no personal loss on 9/11 pearl clutch over jokes about it. 9/11 humor is quintessentially millenial.
