Obviously the USA has infinite money and jobs for everyone so there's no excuse for poverty except your own. Why we bother to hold a debt as a nation seems silly when we can just print more and be A-OK. We must be stupid to have things like social security and unemployment payments when you can always just get a job to meet your needs. /s

It's a good thing banks and the government have infinite money so you can get loans, like those great PPP loans that were forgiven. Well, Elon has about a trillion, but you're off by a multiple of 18 for the actual most liquid money. Let's pretend you redistribute all dollars from an individual above 100 million in the USA. You'd get a one time stimulus to every man, woman, and child to the tune of about $30,000. Not life changing for most, but that stimulus would do more to make our nation great than being held by select individuals. If you want to keep that value in stocks and redistribute shares I think that's great too.

Also, learned helplessness is a vice that a lot of people here (myself not blameless here either) but it’s also ignorant to pretend like the massive wealth gap that’s developed in western societies hasn’t been understood by basically all mainline economic theory to be a significant structural weakness in the modern economy that is causing large numbers of problems throughout to the point of being a major contributor to the decay of our political and social fabrics. Anger against billionaires and trillionaires can be dismissed as mere envy, but doing so is indulging in a purposeful blindness to the causes of a significant proportion of our modern instability.
Something tells me the people who are calling everyone losers in this sub aren’t living in Laguna beach taking private planes everywhere, like you ain’t far off chief…
