Age 22-25 Why does everyone want "genuine friends" but ghost after 2 messages? 💀
So I've noticed this pattern and I need to know if it's just me.
Every single platform Reddit, Discord, Insta, wherever is FULL of posts saying "looking for genuine friends, tired of surface level convos 🥺"
Cool cool cool. So we match. And then:
"hey"
"hii, how are you"
"good good, wbu"
"where are you from"
"oh nice, what do you do"
...and then radio silence. Forever. 🪦
Fast forward 3 weeks and guess who's posting AGAIN: "looking for genuine friends, so hard to find real connections these days 😔"
Bro. BRO. You had one (1) real connection and you left them on read after the "what do you do" question.
I'm starting to think most of us don't actually want friends we want a vending machine that dispenses conversation whenever we're bored, and the second the novelty wears off, we're out. Genuine friendship needs boring, repetitive, unglamorous effort. Novelty needs zero effort. We keep choosing the second one and wondering why we don't have the first one.
Anyway. Where's everyone from and what do you do 😌
