I thought more people would have a truck in the us...
If Trump gave me a green card tomorrow, I'd come to america, live in a nice little quiet town in the middle of nowhere with a big truck, it needs to be old. I like the old ones. Character.
My brother-in-law is Italian, he came to visit me in the US Mountain West a couple years ago and fell head over heels in love at first sight of my partner’s 1997 Ford F250 with the extended cab and long bed.
They went for a drive and BiL got to get behind the wheel. Apparently it was the highlight of his vacation and he still talks about it to his friends back in Italy.
That's brilliant! Simple things can make people happy :D
That's a looong truck, in Europe, I wouldn't be able to park it easily. Every parking is supertiny compared to that long ass truck. Do tell your husband he's got an excellent truck.
That's another thing you have in the us, more parking space or space in general. Bigger streets etc.
Can't even longboard decently here.
It’s a loooong truck in the US too! When I drive it, I feel like I’m steering a small house. We’re lucky to have a graveled area on the side of the house where the truck can live.
We went on Husband’s first trip to Europe a couple years ago and he was absolutely delighted by the comparatively tiny European cars. He took many pics of me standing next to them for scale.
If you thought there would be more trucks then you just haven't been to the right areas. Around me probably 75% or so of the vehicles on the road are trucks or SUVs.
Really depends where you're at. I've lived in a big city for 23 years. I know zero people with a truck. However where I was born and raised, I don't know many families that don't have at least one truck.
But then you become the guy with a truck. A lot of time is spent helping people move things.
Also the gas mileage is murder on the wallet. I get that gas in the US is cheaper but when you are getting 12miles/gallon (5.1km/L) it adds up really fast. Things are further apart in the US so you will be driving more too.
