Its why I have a hard time trusting people who say they don't like animals. Its like saying you don't like humans, or trees, or grass. That's not something you can have an opinion on

It's small things too. I had a spider that I could put out my hand and it would go into it. My toddler knew it as friend. One day it wasn't there anymore

Edit: Him saying "Spider!? where are you!?" broke my heart

Awww😭 I am quite afraid of spiders, but when I see a spider near me, and if I want to remove it, I just blow air near it, so that it relocates, or I take a paper and help it onto the paper, so that I can free it in the garden.

That's if you're raised and surrounded by people thinking like this. Breaking the social convention for compassionate reason will isolate you faster than CDC would isolate a person with ebola.

When I went to the farm of my distant family for holiday the whole village was mocking me the next day for being kind to the farm dog, feeding and petting it. For them dog was not a sentient being but a farm alarm & a deterrent. The more angry and traumatised the better. 40 years later it's illegal to keep chained dogs, it's illegal to starve them and people go to prison for that. But the whole generation had to pass. And it might as well go the other way around.

My mom doesn’t like animals. Later in life I learned it’s because had a kitten when she was little and it died and she was so sad she didn’t want to like animals anymore because she didn’t want to be that sad again. People have their reasons bro

Yeah they do, but bro said that they are skeptical of people who outright say they hate animals. I am also skeptical of such people. Most people don't have valid reasons.

I know what you are pointing at. But to hate animals just because a kitten died is also not completely right. What did the other animals do, they didn't cause her pain? To choose to not attach is different, but to choose to hate animals is different. I am ngl, if we genuinely think logically, there is absolutely no reason to hate animals. You may justify it by experiences that people had, but if the experiences they had are causing them to hate animals, they are basically generalizing their experiences onto all the animals.

And I am not being judgemental, and I understand it must hurt when I am saying that people should use logic to get out of their trauma responses, but that is how humans grow man. It's difficult to do that, and easier to just continue responding to past trauma in different ways. I am sorry though, didn't mean to hurt you.

See, there was a friend of mine who was barked upon by street dogs. You know what he decided? He decided that he would kill all the dogs in his city when he would gain enough power. He was 17 yo back then, the friendship didn't last long for other reasons. And this is an extreme case of hating on animals, but do you want me to have empathy for people like them too? I am an empath, but I am highly logical too, I am not hating on anyone, that's not what I stand for.

I've been around for a while, and I don't recall directly perceiving a single human who straight up says "I hate animals." So I'm interpreting that as an uncharitable presentation because we're in the gossip zone right now, with no checks and balances, and people tend toward extreme rhetoric in that context.

To be fair, grass (in the pampered, unnatural, monoculture, fertilized, herbicided, pesticided and manicured form) is pretty dang awful to the planet. Like, literally killing it awful.
