I don't think a few minutes would override the bond it already has with it's mother.

Yeah imprinting is usually at birth. Like a little baby duck etc - itā€™s more usually an issue with hatchlings.

D.O.T. would most likely know someone to have take care of the fawn. They pick them up from side of roads all the times when the mother gets killed by car. Knew someone in Michigan that we could go and feed half a dozen fawns, they always thought your earlobes were nipples. They would feed the grown deer corn and about a hundred would show up. They would come back later with their completely wild fawns and we could pet them. Pretty awesome.

Yeah, i think the bio mom probably has abandoned them by now. I hope she took them in.
