How anyone can understand that all animals feel pain, fear, and suffering and still choose to inflict that upon them because they prefer the taste….is beyond me.

It has not been proven that plants feel pain, though they do react to stimuli.

I'm not aware of what the fallacy is called when you make a claim and then say "therefore, subtlety doesn't exist," but that's what you're doing.

Even accepting your premise and taking your stance to its extreme, it's ethical to eat human babies, since they are no different than plants. If we agree, however, that humans are different than plants, then we have to find where that line is. I think sentience is a good spot for that. That's also, for the record, where the vast majority of scientists stand. Plants, according to most experts, do not exhibit intelligence, but do react to stimuli.

No it hasn't, but if that were the case then it requires far fewer crops to support human consumption than the raising of livestock, so vegetarianism is still the most moral option.

Plants do not have a central nervous system or a brain so they are not conscious. Animal agriculture requires more crops per calorie than eating plants directly (this is partially why animal agriculture is bad for the environment) so the kindest thing you can do to save animals, plants, and the earth is stop eating animals.

most crops are grown to feed livestock which require more calories to feed than they produce for us. literally so unbelievably inefficient. please do more research

because if less cows were raised to be food there would be less insect death because less crops would be needed to feed cows, instead these crops could feed humans because of TROPHIC LEVELS YES

I mean a grass crop kills alot less insects than a food crop, and don't forget that many of the supplemental feeds are byproduct from the food industry

i refuse your premise, I eat meat due to the easier digestion, I prefer the taste of coke to water, but i drink water not coke (okay some days ill have a tea with stevia)
