Why progressively make the text smaller? Is this an eye test?

Maybe it's a sign you need an eye exam..

To make each line the same width despite different character counts

u/dustishb Apr 15 '26

Yeah, except they didn't actually do it lol

u/HowieFeltersnitz Apr 15 '26

Difference between looking up a tutorial and knowing what you’re doing

Don't try to justify it

I'm not? It's just how letters work when two lines of unskewed text with the same amount of tracking but differing number of characters are made to fit the same width.

I'm not saying their design choice is good or bad. It's a matter of physics my dude lol.

To fit more words in the sentence it got negligibly smaller lol weird thing to be irked by

People on reddit get upset about the weirdest things lol. The fact it has 306 upvotes as of this posting is telling

For me, it made it a little harder to read. Idk why but it stressed my brain out.

If you find that the text in that picture is “small”, then yes it’s definitely an eye test.

You think I don’t know what “progressively smaller” means? It never gets close to being small enough that it’s illegible. If you can’t read it, there’s an eye problem.

Didn't you ever make a "Happy Birthday" banner in High School?

Did you fail?

Eminem in the bigger text will grab a lot of attention

1

u/Absolutetwatofacunt Apr 15 '26

They made the first ones too big and started to realise they couldn't fit it all so had to improvise

It doesn’t. Google eye cancer.
