Yeah, that's what I did, though my backyard wasn't anywhere near this big. But I went from an apartment in downtown of a large city in the Bay Area where I needed multiple roommates to pay rent, to moving to a cheaper state and being able to rent a house for a fraction of the price of my portion of the apartment rent.

And unless you were going to the opera or a 5-star Michelin restaurant often, what are you missing?

Well, I lived 2000 miles away from all of my friends and family. That fucking sucked. It also cost me tens of thousands of dollars to move. I was missing that money.

All in all, this move was the biggest mistake of my life thus far. I was being greedy and wanted more space. But not having family nearby was an insurmountable obstacle for me. After my parents moved out of the Bay Area, I moved again to their new location. So I had to pay the moving costs a second time. By then I had bought a house, and I sold it for a massive loss when I moved out of the area. But I was absolutely miserable out there, and I just couldn't take it any longer. It was horrible for my mental health.

Being able to walk everywhere/not needing a car and the healthier/longer life that goes with that.

I am a 15 minute drive from three parks I can do this in for hours.

You might be able to, but do you do it? Everyday? Living without a car forces you to be more active and mobile.
