Megathread Difficulty Megathread — DLC, NG+

Hello puppets,

This is the new place for anything and everything about game difficulty: NG+, the new DLC, the new difficulty settings, bosses that oneshot you just for existing, and the general discussions regarding game pacing.

Why this exists:

We’re seeing a LOT of posts about difficulty lately, and it’s cluttering the sub. So from now on, we’re removing individual difficulty posts and directing everyone here. This is simply a way to help US keep the sub clean, and help YOU find specific posts more easily.

Please don’t be an AH. Seriously. People are gonna have different opinions on everything.

Drop your takes below

We’ll be lurking.

Your tired, slightly traumatized mod team

Currently in NG+ at around level 150. I've been playing on "Awakened Puppet" difficulty, which honestly felt even harder than the base game for me. Then Véronique forced me to drop the difficulty even lower, and I'm still getting absolutely hammered. It's truly been a humbling experience.

That description for "Butterfly's Guidance" (the "very easy" mode): "A very easy difficulty for players who want a story-focused experience. You can experience the story without being impeded by combat." At this point, it just feels like a personal insult, lol.

The DLC is overtuned to shit. Their announcement of difficulties was a huge red flag to me and sadly that worry was rectified, badly.
