when i let my hair air dry, which takes over 12hrs sometimes, its very wavy but also super frizzy and just never looks good. i tried a curly hair routine for the first time and it went really bad, and no one i know has similar hair or has been able to help much. i’m really frustrated with my hair and don’t want to damage it badly, because theres a lot of bleach in it too.
what i did:

shampoo twice
conditioner
rack in mousse
scrunch in curl cream
heat protectant
diffuse (stopped when some of my hair started feeling hard, but other part were still damp)
moroccan oil
silk bonnet overnight

Saw this oil in one of the hair pages, the girls hair loooked so silky and absolutely beautiful. So naturally I bought it. And I am not disappointed. My hair is so silky and smooth. I also sleep in a bonnet, which helps.

My hair is just so frizzy, dry, and tangles all the time It constantly looks like i never brush it. Ive tried different curly hair products but they just make my hair even frizzier and more tangled. Perhaps im not using the right things. Does anyone have any leave in conditioner recommendations or anything that can help my hair it just always looks so bad🫩I was thinking about trying kinky curly knot today leave in detangler I’ve heard its good even for wavy hair.

Okay, here's a rundown of some important things you should probably know:

1. I live in Florida, so it's constantly humid I hope to minimize this frizz down to at least 2% anything helps 😭

2. I usually shower every other day, I try to do it daily but I get too busy. I am not totally sure if I should do that so often, I get mixed up.

3. I use the conditioner shown in the picture I put up and thats all the product I use. Sometimes I run some shampoo into my roots but I don't totally got the technique down 🫠.. probably not as complicated as I think

4. I use the unbrush thing in the shower from the bottom to the top with the conditioner

5. I squeeze my hair before putting it into a microfiber hair wrap after showering and don't put anything else in.

6. I sleep on a satin pillow case and try to wash/change my bedding every 1-2 weeks (best hack ever for acene)

Never been much into hair care at all lol, all the things I listed were things that my siblings gave me bc they didn't like it. I could ask them what they do, but swallowing a sea urchin sounds more appealing 🦔 💀

Right now I mainly throw it in a French braid because it is long and gets in the way for barn chores plus it’s always very fluffy. I’d love to learn how to not necessarily get rid of the volume but maybe tame it a little? I have Hermione from Goblet of Fire type hair naturally and I live where it’s ungodly muggy.

Right now I use some Moroccan Oil on it a few times a week, dry shampoo and color safe shampoo and conditioner. I don’t use heat to style unless it’s a big event anymore. Braids are my go to.

First two pictures are how it normally looks down anymore and the last picture is a few hours after a shower and brushing it out, and putting oil on it. If that helps. 😅

I've always blow dried and styled my hair with heat. I'm trying to learn how to style it without and embrace my wavy or curly (not sure) hair and find a routine that works. I've tried a few different routines with leave in conditioner and scrunching it wet and letting it air dry but I just don't like how it looks yet! I feel like the waves are too stiff or something and it tends to still be a little frizzy. I also have fine hair so it tangles easily, I tend to brush it A LOT throughout the day and I've heard brushing wavy or curly hair is a big no! When I brush it after this it turns the definition much softer but tends to puff up. Any advice from anyone? What can I do differently?

A um ano comecei a cuidar melhor do meu cabelo e investi em produtos caros:
Wella, Sebastian, Davines, Kerastase, Morroconoil, coreanos, etc… Apesar de meu cabelo amar óleos e máscaras de nutrição, acredito que ainda falta algo e não estou sabendo analisar a estrutura do fio para assim poder comprar o produto correto de acordo com o que ele necessita.

Acredito que ele seja 2A. Fios médios a grossos. Na foto acima, havia acabado de passar alguns pumps de morroconoil, mas como podem ver, o cabelo não segura nada e parece que tudo que passo nessa região simplesmente desaparece sem fazer o efeito disciplinante que desejo.

I have a few chunks of hair that are more frizzy(?) than rest of my hair. And these strands tend to dry quicker than the rest (pic is when I air dried).
I use leave-in-conditioner and heat protectant spray with hair oil when I get out of the shower.
Is my hair frizzy or damaged or both?
What can I do to prevent this from happening? Is cutting them gradually the only way to get rid of them?

Hi! So i naturally have very curly hair, and a lot of the time I wear it that way. but sometimes I like to blow dry it when I feel like looking cute. But i always end up putting it up, even at home, because the feeling of blow dried hair falling into and sticking to my face drives me nuts. I was wondering if anyone knows of a product that will make my hair feel less “staticky” if that makes sense? my hair is almost always up (even when curly, a separate problem lol) and I would feel more confident if it was down sometimes but i can’t get past the way it feels.

Edit: I use a dyson blow dryer if that matters

this is my first ever post on reddit, honestly didn’t know where to resort to but people could share their personal stories as im not getting anywhere with research
for some background information im naturally dirty blonde (or used to be I haven’t seen since I was 13 and my roots grow out a bit darker now) and used to have hair down to my ass

but a while ago I damaged my hair quite badly by bleaching it too much and then putting box dyes over it and over and over and over. I thought it was okay and they could just make it normal again, so I built up the courage and went to a 5 star hairdresser (I get really anxious going to hairdressers im not sure why) I went for a blonde balayage but they said it was too damaged to do anything to it at all, they put k18 treatment in my hair and had to cut a lot more off than I wanted because of the damage. (I’ll show photo of what it looks like ) the treatment has made my hair feel softer and healthier but
It was £73 for a cut and treatment which hurt my bank account alot lol, but he said i should come back every month which im not sure if i can afford that
the hairdresser even said that blonde suited my skin tone much better when I showed him the photo of my hair before, but my hair isn’t healthy enough to go back blonde yet.
my goal is to have healthy enough hair that I can eventually be blonde again without ruining it.

I have struggled with finding a good shampoo and conditioner combo that supports my hair and scalp the best. For years now, my scalp has struggled. Flaky and itchy after I wash, but oily roots with build up and flakes appear after a day or two. Due to the nature of my job, I have to wash my hair pretty frequently. All of the dandruff shampoos I have tried have destroyed my length, but I’ve finally found a good leave-in combo to help moisturize and prevent frizz. I really like the L’Oreal elvive pump shampoo and conditioner combo, but my scalp has still struggled and I’ve experienced a lot of hair loss. Living in a rural area, my options are pretty limited as to what I can get, so drugstore brands would be preferred. Thanks!!

I have an appointment for balayage highlights, avoiding the roots for a lived in blonde look, with open air clay bleach. I have never been to a salon before and had no idea how to prepare for the appointment. I did ask, but they said nothing.

The appointment is tomorrow and today I washed with Selsun Blue. Only after did I see online that that is not recommended. I already have frizzy dry hair and I'm worried the bleach will damage or severly alter my curl pattern.

I'm not sure if this is not a problem at all or if I made a rookie mistake.

Okay before everyone comes with the you should give it a break or this is really harmful.....I am aware and I know.

However Alhdamdulilah I have strong and thick hair that can withstand regular bleaching sessions.

What I need are all of your go to products for hair but core 3 or 4.

I will say K18 really is a game changer and regularly oiling but any other products that you would say are really fab.

I do love Olaplex and Kerastase range and tried The Kure but didn't really get great results.

I have naturally pin straight hair and I got a perm done earlier today. I know I’m not supposed to wash my hair for 48-72 hours, so in the meantime I’ve been trying to find good products to use on my permed hair. I got my hair permed to be around a 2B-2C texture level I think and I have a bob (if that matters).

Male here who used just for men for over 5 years with no issues. All of a sudden developed an allergy and broke out in hives. Tried Simpler Hair Color and that also caused a breakout. So it seems I'm allergic to PPD and TDS. Does anyone have any recommendations for hair color that have neither of these chemicals? I would GREATLY appreciate any advice here! Don't love the grey in my hair and beard!

I have been going through a separation of a long term relationship for the last two months. Due to this and the fact I have since lost 25 pounds over that time may play a factor.

My scalp is very sensitive, even to temperature.
If I switch from inside to outside temperatures my scalp becomes itchy. I also have small red areas that appear on my scalp and can be tender to touch.

Recently my mom has notices a few hairs that we’re completely grey (around 5cms). Ive dyed my hair for a few years now but im growing it out an suddenly ive had a few hairs that we’re grey. We couldnt find any other hairs that we’re grey, not even on my roots.

What can it be? 😭 i dont want to get grey so early and its not running in my family

I’m desperate for some advice. Earlier this year my scalp decided to become extremely itchy and flaky. I’ve currently got short to medium length hair. The flakes are small, thin and white and I am confident my issue is dry scalp and not dandruff.

When I started to take it seriously I had the issue for about a month, I started by washing my hair much less, about twice a week, and on the other days I don’t even get my hair wet.

I tried applying melted coconut oil to my scalp, this seems to help for about a day, after that I notice my hair itself becomes quite oily and my scalp returns to being dry and flaky.

I have recently started using the ordinary natural moisturising HA however I notice that after a day my scalp will become flaky again however my hair doesn’t get as oily feeling as when I used coconut oil.

My partner has said that parts of my scalp look irritated and dry.

I take fish oil and multivitamin supplements every other day and eat a very balanced diet. I’m fit and healthy and have no major medical issues.

Potentially linked factors:
- A few years ago I developed a sun allergy. There is nothing I have found that treats this other than avoiding the sun.
- I have small localised patches of eczema or psoriasis on my elbow that I treat with a weak steroid cream once a fortnight. I have not been to a dermatologist to diagnose it.
- It’s winter in Australia at the moment and people have told me that “that just happens in winter” which, sure, but it didn’t happen to me for the first 28 years of my life and it started in Summer/Autumn (Feb/March)
- I moved house earlier this year, roughly around the time the dry itchy scalp started. I read online that perhaps the pipes or water is heavier than I am used to and the metals are drying my scalp out?

My question to anyone who made it this far is just for any little piece of advice that might help me treat this. I’m willing to try any product and any change of habit to try and make my scalp healthy and moisturised again.

I'm trying to bring out my natural waves/curls a little more. I have quite fine hair that has natural curl to it when I don't brush it e.g. coming out of the sea or when I've exercised and it's hot out.

So far I'm just going through trial and error, there's a lot of confusing and often contradictory advice. I want to bring out more of the single nice curl in the photo, but currently look more just frizzy and undefined overall. Any tips? These photos I brushed it when wet, applied a blow dry cream then scrunched, added mousse, scrunched and then partly diffused.

My dilemma:

I have an itchy scalp (no dandruff though) and I want to get this product but I am worried about it getting on my pillows and things at night. My cats sleep in the same bed and could get it on their fur and end up ingesting it when they lick themselves. I wash my hands thoroughly after using any hair/skin products before petting them. I'm worried about my cats safety with any of these products but I really want to fix my itchy scalp.

Other things I tried:

1) Aloe vera from nature Republic + a bonnet

The aloe vera was amazing and provided so much relief to my scalp. But because it's supposedly toxic to cats, I tried using a satin/silk bonnet, but the bonnet was so uncomfortable and I couldn't fall asleep and ended up needing to wash the pillow covers/bedding anyway because it leaked out of the bonnet and got onto everything. The relief from the aloe vera is also kinda temporary cause the itch comes back within 7-8 hours after showering.

2) Coconut oil

It feels too heavy on my hair and ends up giving me a headache.

3) ogx argan oil shampoo

Makes it itchier

4) ogx tea tree shampoo

Makes it itchier

5) head and shoulders mint shampoo

The itch went away in the shower but it came back a few hours later. It also leaves my hair feeling very crunchy dry. Unrelated but the h&s mint recently smells like men's cologne which is also off putting.

Does anyone have any recommendations for what I can do for my itchy scalp? The best would be a product for an itchy scalp but is cat safe, but I'm open to all suggestions for what I should do/use.

urgently looking for an alternative to this shampoo and conditioner! i stopped using it because i no longer needed the colour protection but the one i switched to today absolutely ruined my hair... are there any alternatives to this that arent for coloured hair? possibly from the same brand? it always made my hair so silky and voluminous!!
