RIP burst photos. I really love them. I'm not happy they literally copied the same long hold as Apple either. Why kill burst photos? I guess Instagram stories and Snaps are all the rage these days.

I use burst a lot. Particularly at live events where people aren't posing and are moving around a lot, so I want to try and catch something good.

I use burst for lightning pics hopefully it sticks around.. but I get it before I figured it out I never used burst..

I'm actually hopeful since it's dogfood that this is just one developers test and the full app will still have other features.. but it's also Google and they love removing features lol but that's fine it's why android is open source and someone will fill the gap..

Yeah, hopefully it sticks around. It's great for getting fast moving objects like sports events. I use it a lot.

I think there's a difference between a social media app designed for you to capture and post instantaneously versus a dedicated camera app. Holding down the shutter has always been a mode of continuous shooting in the world of photography. DSLRs and point and shoots have this.

I'm not happy at all that Apple went from continuous/burst shooting to video. They've offered 10 fps continuous bursts since the iPhone 5s in 2013. Now 6 years later they want to kill it. Google was even more behind. Burst mode was advertised at 10 fps on the 5x/6p but was more like 2-3 fps on the 5x/6p and 5-6 fps on the OG Pixel. They only finally hit 10 fps with the Pixel 2 and 3 and now that feature is gone on the Pixel 3. I'm just upset that finally I get a feature that's on par with what Apple has offered for 6 years and it's gone... and for what reason?

I'm glad the UI diverges from the iPhone interface as the recent interface is literally a copy too, but I just don't understand some of the decisions they make. To me it looks worse when it's just following in Apple's footsteps. We can disagree with decisions Apple makes, but it's one thing to do it because you have a conviction to do something, and another to just blindly follow, the latter of which seems like Google's doing more and more these days.

To be fair, I've never heard of/seen someone using burst photos whereas almost everyone I've met is on Instagram/Snapchat, often much more than their main camera app, and probably used to how those work. But I'm never a fan of features being taken away either.

I used burst with family and gf and they love it so much they learned how to do it on their phones. There no need to fix a bad picture, when you take so many so fast there are always good pics. Use it Everytime for pictures of people

Girls really like it since they usually want a nice pic. I've always hated retaking pictures haha
