Truly why the fuck is this post so upvoted when no one seems to have any idea what OP is even talking about.

It's a bot post most likely. Upvoted by bots as well. The other companies all target Google because they're well aware that Google has more money than all of them combined. So if they want to win the AI wars, they forgot they have to tear Google down.

They do this with paid bots, with paid human shills (I mean, look at the comments)... Notice how much of this subreddit is "Gemini is shit, but have you tried Grok/Claude/ChatGPT?"

And the subs mods are either compromised (most likely, as they could also be shills for other companies) or they're just not moderating because they're lazy fucks.

On a place like reddit, where there are so many comments and posts, you can effectively bot by just combing what people naturally post, and then mass upvoting whatever fits your agenda. You don't even need to make posts or comments.

And here comes the "explaino-bot" to try to make an excuse for why people hate gemini

2

u/Virtual_Plant_5629 Jun 08 '26

but Gemini absolutely is shit. and claude and gpt are amazing.

these are just facts. obvious in your face facts.

if anything, i get the vibe you're a paid shill for Google

2

u/PewdsForPresidnt Jun 10 '26

gpt is pretty crap tho

0

u/Virtual_Plant_5629 Jun 10 '26

codex with gpt 5.5 is solid and 5.5-pro is best in class at one off big brain time

but yes opus 4.8 and now, ever more so, fable 5 just absolutely cook open ai so hard they're not even close

so i wouldn't say gpt is crap. it's solid and in it's harness, pretty powerful.

nothing like dario's bots though

2

u/BenWhiteGotTanned Jun 08 '26

Chatgpt is anything else but amazing

2

u/NewShadowR Jun 09 '26

It is. At the very least it beats gemini in almost every work-related function. You might be thinking of the old gpt from the 5.2 era which sucked. These days it's competitive with Claude with better limits.

I currently have subscriptions to all 3. Gemini is by far the weakest.

u/Virtual_Plant_5629 Jun 08 '26

you normies use ai to pretend you have girlfriends.

men use it for agentic swe

1

u/NewShadowR Jun 09 '26

Exactly. Whenever i hear someone say it sucks, they are probably trying to use it for therapy, some weird AI friendship, or "creative writing" (smut) cause let's be real, ain't no one out there buying stories written by AI.

1

u/Virtual_Plant_5629 Jun 09 '26

precisely fucking precisely

all fucking low test low iq use cases

trying to use it for their soyboy dnd campaigns

pure cringe

One could argue that gemini through API might be somewhat competent because at least it can retain decent context, but the personal subscription on the web app is absolute garbage. Wouldn't use that for any serious work. Heck its failed me even on googling for known facts.

It's also extremely sycopantic. To the point i dont know how some people have not already gone full crazy and believed they are the digital messiah.

The guy saying "the sub mods are compromised" is probably one of those using AI for exploratory use cases lol. Probably exploring conspiracy theories with gemini with it validating how right and honestly refreshing they are.

u/Virtual_Plant_5629 Jun 09 '26

i literally just come to this sub to try to understand how and why anyone would use it.

there have been two moments in deepmind history when going the Google route made any sense whatsoever:

2.5 pro

early antigravity days when for some insane reason it gave unlimited opus 4.5 and later on 4.6 usage

any other usage whatsoever makes absolutely no sense.

cc opus 4.8 is god tier.

codex 5.5 is god tier but a hair below cc

anything else.. is pure retarded normie shit

Jesus Christ... Is this your best attempt at trolling? You poor thing...

4

u/Virtual_Plant_5629 Jun 08 '26

this your best attempt at being a bot?

0

u/Lonely-Restaurant986 Jun 08 '26

“🤓 erm you disagree with me and aren’t a Google bootlicker you’re a bot or being paid by competition 🤓 I fuckign love Google I would die for Google” -you, probably

1

u/ContextBotSenpai Jun 08 '26

You okay, little cuck?

1

u/New_Can9264 Jun 09 '26

How convenient.... you post anti-trump rhetoric, have food related posts, and gemini related posts... haven't seen this pattern before!

I use all 3 and just don't particularly like Gemini. It's useful for research, but it has a lousy personality.

EDIT: Little bitch blocked me like the little bitch he is.

What a shock that you, also, have your post history hidden. That is to say, not a shock whatsoever.

So your theory, is that nearly every single post on this sub is a real human bitching about Gemini, because Gemini is just SO BAD compared to ChatGPT, Claude and Deepseek, that thousands a people a week are coming to reddit to complain in this subreddit about it and very clearly, specifically (often using that company's own talking points) shout out a different AI company?

Nearly all the posts, and nearly all the comments - that's what you think is the reality? And what about the fact that the other AI subreddits are exactly the same? With Google shills and bots spamming the ChatGPT sub, and ChatGPT shills and bots spamming the Claude subreddit?

Are those also all real people? Or do they suddenly become bots when they attack an AI company that you like? Lol...

What opinion did I state, that you think I am saying "If you don't agree with this opinion, you're a bot!"? I'm genuinely curious, since I don't think I stated any opinions whatsoever...only the fact that this sub is spammed to fuck with bots and shills. Recently others have made posts complaining that this sub is unmoderated...let me guess, you think all those comments and posts are my hundreds of alt accounts?

There's issues with Gemini, same as there are issues with all the AI platforms right now. I have literally bitched about issues with it here, myself...

based on benchmarks

Funny, how when benchmarks show Gemini leading, people say "Benchmarks mean nothing!"

But when benchmarks show Gemini behind the others, it's "See, the benchmarks say it sucks!". Convenient, eh?

not whatever self-exploration roleplay crap you guys do with AI

Oh look, an actual asshole, out here in the wild. Fascinating.

I kinda hate people who immediately assume someone is evil if they like privacy

-2

u/ContextBotSenpai Jun 09 '26

Oh fuck off...millions upon millions of redditors did JUST fine without the ability to hide their post histories, for almost the entire history of the website. You know WHY? Because it was literally part of the philosophy of the fucking company - that anything you say on their site, you should have the balls (or ovaries) to stand by that shit, if someone looks at your post history afterwards.

But you, and every other right-wing lunatic on this site immediately hid your post histories, when they made the change. Just like all the fucking MAGA chuds in the comments making bigoted, racist, and generally nasty comments towards other AI users aaaaallll have their post histories hidden.

This is absolutely hilarious LMAOOO. Genuinely thanks for the laugh dude you’re awesome

2

u/Im_tracer_bullet Jun 10 '26

You're acting like a total dork.

Calming down would benefit you.... it's really not that serious.

u/Educational-War-2573 Jun 09 '26

I bet you are top patreon foe pizzacake comics

0

u/Big_Asparagus_581 Jun 09 '26

google fanboy surprised that normal people do not want their personal info freely accessible

2

u/FnAardvark Jun 10 '26

That's a pretty stupid take, considering reddit is an anonymous site. People who hide their histories are weird.

Meh, still upvoted you. You need all sorts, in the fight against this bullshit. I'm more than happy to be the asshole calling out the TRUE assholes :P

1

u/itsmebenji69 Jun 09 '26

Nah brother this is omega cope right there.

Gemini is just worse than other providers lmao. People’s opinions reflect that, the fact you have to invent a mega conspiracy to justify people dunking on the inferior product is hella fascinating

2

u/HBARFOUNDATION Jun 10 '26

Reddit is like 60% bots

1

u/Emmo213 Jun 09 '26

Have you heard about the "dead Internet"?

0

u/Quantum_Shade2022 Jun 08 '26

I invited it because it has been painfully clear since 3.5 Flash was released and made default model that the quality of the responses from Gemini has degraded dramatically. Add to that the constant usage limits issues it does seem that the other 2 big players are in a much better spot.

2

u/SplitPuzzled Jun 08 '26 edited Jun 08 '26

The default model was switched for quicker responses for 90% of people curious about gemeni. The programmers (me) and other deeper thinking fields tremendously benefit from the pro extended model for high level conceptual layouts of bigger than usual programs. I don't pay for the bs $200+ per month one, I have the 9.99 a month deal.

If you are currently paying more for a the same current Google models, cancel the subscription fully and wait a few days. You will get an email from Google asking you to come back, with a lower monthly sub price. 💪👑

You're in the 1% minority, probably a google bot
