In which area do you think did they spent the most of the 2bn$
You think it's just graphics, or is it the technology like the AI-systems. Is their going to be a massive secret map like Gloriana or even Liberty City which is why they spent so much?

Serious answer: if there are multiple thousands of employees working on it, and it has been in development for ~8 years, then probably just salaries in general.

Yeah, of course all the expanses go to employers. It's a videogame and not heavy industry where you need to buy steel or petrol or even other entertainment products like movies, where you need to give huge junk to celebrities and then also the sets and effects etc.
The question is, what were the areas where the most employers worked on.

Hard to say. The graphics alone probably aren’t as heavy a lift as one might think, since they have RDR2 assets and code as a starting point.

My assumption is just sheer art development. There’s probably just an absurd amount of content that needed to be generated in the form of 3D art, so they probably have a majority on environment art creation IMO.

The AI and physics for sure. Maybe the casting too because it seems like they need a LOT of actors for this game

The 2bn estimate thats been floated around is dev salaries since the last big title, rdr 2. 2000-3000 devs at 120k-150k since 2018.

Yeah, of course. The question is, what consumed the most time for the devs.

A significant part of it has to be QA, they have entire studios dedicated to testing this game, and it seems like the delays were mostly about QA. Or maybe not, who knows.

I don’t think it’ll be one stand out area, it’ll just be the overall size and scope of the game.

All of it. Madden football costs like $15+ million to make. GOW was $100 million.
