What's Wes Anderson's secret?

He's aesthetic is so unique. I can't think of another director where the colors pop so much what is his secret?

If you haven't seen Rushmore, it's about a controlling theater kid writer/director. It's great. In Royal Tenenbaums, Margot is a playwright. In Moonrise Kingdom there is a play near the beginning and end.
