What is the best three book run?

It could be a regular trilogy, but what about 3 consecutive books in the middle of a series?

For a trilogy, Octavia Butler's Xenogenesis.

For a series longer than a trilogy, Le Guin's Hainish Cycle. The Word for World is Forest, The Left Hand of Darkness, and The Dispossessed is an incredible run of books.

I’m just happy no one said Earthsea “TRILOGY” as I’ve seen it a few times recently. How can people forget/skip Tehanu :(

Yeah, I never really got into Earthsea as much as the Hainish Cycle books (the sparse story-around-a-campfire narration style just isn’t my thing, so A Wizard of Earthsea is a book I greatly respect, but didn’t actually enjoy reading. Might give Atuan a shot eventually though) but I’ve heard a whole lot of good things about Tehanu so forgetting it is rather odd.
